🚀 We are proud to congratulate our colleague Dr. Dimitris Kakoullis on securing funding under the POST-DOC/0925-ROandOther Call, specifically in Physical Sciences and Engineering category through the Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας/ Research and Innovation Foundation!

📡 His project, ARGES (AI for Radiometric and Geometric Calibration in SAR), represents a major step forward in advancing cutting-edge research and innovation in our field.

🌍ARGES will deliver an operational, traceable calibration chain for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), using the Cyclops CY Strategic Research Infrastructure Unit and the CyGOS supersite (Group on Earth Observations ) in Cyprus to produce calibrated, uncertainty-qualified products.

This achievement reflects dedication, scientific excellence, and a strong commitment to impactful research 👏

💡 We’re excited to see the outcomes of ARGES and its contribution to the scientific community!

👏 Congratulations, Dimitris!

🛰️ We are excited to welcome Andrea Maffia, from University of Genoa as a PhD Visiting Student to our Laboratory of Geodesy at the Cyprus University of Technology / Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου!

His research focuses on GNSS multipath effects and the use of Machine Learning for improving positioning accuracy—an important challenge in high-precision geodesy and Earth observation.

We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and to the innovative insights his work will bring to our team and ongoing activities such as Cyclops CY and Cyprus Ground Motion Service (CyGMS).

Welcome to the team, Andrea! 👏

📡 Our GNSS station ASGA, operated by the University of Technology / Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου and our team Lab (Laboratory of Geodesy), has officially become part of the European Permanent GNSS Network (EPN)!

This is the first Cyprus-owned and operated station to become part of the EPN, helping to improve geodetic monitoring across Europe and contributing valuable data for Earth science research.

A proud moment for our team, university and our country! 🇨🇾
