| White Coat Ceremony 2026 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Last Wednesday, 27 May 2026, we celebrated a special milestone for our medical students as they took an important step on their journey to becoming doctors.

The White Coat Ceremony marks the transition from classroom learning to clinical training, symbolising a commitment to professionalism, compassion, and patient-centred care. Surrounded by faculty and staff, family, and friends, students proudly received their white coats and prepared to begin clinical placements in healthcare settings across Cyprus and around the world.

Congratulations to all our future doctors as they continue their journey of learning, service, and care.

📢 Fourth-year graduate-entry MD student Eleanor Roy has been awarded first prize at the Swedish Hospital Research Symposium for her poster, ‘Ambient Air Pollution and Cardiovascular Morbidity: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Acute and Long-Term Exposure’.

Eleanor, who is currently completing her clinical training at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital in Chicago, is the first medical student to receive first prize at the Symposium.

Υπεγράφη σήμερα, 29 Μαΐου 2026, συμφωνία για την επέκταση της ήδη επιτυχημένης συνεργασίας μεταξύ του #ΟΚΥπΥ και της Ιατρικής Σχολής του University of Nicosia

Η συμφωνία προβλέπει την πρόσληψη πανεπιστημιακών ιατρών από την Ιατρική Σχολή, οι οποίοι θα εργάζονται στα νοσηλευτήρια του #ΟΚΥπΥ κάτω από τις υφιστάμενες δομές.

Η νέα αυτή συνεργασία ενισχύει ουσιαστικά το ανθρώπινο δυναμικό του οργανισμού και τις υπηρεσίες που προσφέρει και συμβάλλει σημαντικά στον εμπλουτισμό της κλινικής εκπαίδευσης και έρευνας προς όφελος των ασθενών, των φοιτητών ιατρικής και της κοινωνίας.

The University of Nicosia Medical School Mobile Clinic will participate in Cyprus Pride 2026, supporting Cy Checkpoint in its vital mission to promote sexual health awareness and community wellbeing.

On Saturday, 6 June 2026, medical students and Mobile Clinic volunteers will collaborate with Cy Checkpoint at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens to raise awareness around sexual health, support community engagement initiatives, and observe the HIV/STI community testing process.

Cy Checkpoint, in collaboration with theUniversity of Nicosia Medical Schooll, will be there from 17:00 to 23:00, offering free, rapid, anonymous HIV/STI testing, free condoms and lubricants, HIV self-tests and information on PrEP, PEP and combination prevention. 🌈

📢 Mobile Clinic travels to Lythrodontas to deliver specialised eye examinations

Last Saturday, the Mobile Clinic travelled to the village of Lythrodontas in the Nicosia district on a special mission to provide specialised eye examinations in collaboration with ophthalmologists from Pantheo Eye Center.

The visit, made possible through the Medical School’s long-standing collaboration with the Centre, took place at the community’s Olive and Flour Mill Museum, which was temporarily adapted and equipped with specialised medical equipment to host the clinical activities.
