UK universities’ standard entry requirements are GCE 'A' Levels, IB and equivalent European and international qualifications. The UFP is a foundation course that offers students an alternative qualification for entry to UK universities. While we do accept students with GCSE (or IGCSE), the UFP is particularly suitable for students with 'AS' Levels or 'IB' Certificate level. A foundation course suc
h as the UFP offers students an environment that concentrates on learning rather than exams. Greater emphasis is placed on knowledge acquisition and development of skills that best prepare students for Higher Education. As a direct result, Foundation course students find the transition smoother when they progress to university. International students may have reached a level of attainment within their own country's educational system which is not sufficient to enter the 1st year of a degree course in the UK. These students often find that the 'A' Level route is inappropriate and long, involving unnecessary stress and risks which the UFP would avoid. Therefore, the UFP is a foundation course particularly suitable, for those students who wish to follow a fast track route which broadens their knowledge, develops their practical skills and provides them with a sound educational base for degree-level study in the UK.
