The Department of Language and Literature at the University of Nicosia offers several programs: BA in English Language and Literature (conventional), MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (distance learning), MA in Teaching Greek to Students of Other Languages (distance learning), and MA in Greek Civilisation (distance learning). We also oversee all language courses at the University of Nico

sia through the Centre of Languages. We have a highly qualified and dedicated international faculty with extensive teaching and research experience. Our BA in English Language and Literature is a four-year course that has been fully accredited and successful since 2005. This degree is now offered with concentrations and gives prospective students the opportunity to specialise either in Linguistics and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or in Literature. Our MA in TESOL is also fully accredited and can be completed in a three semester cycle. It is available on campus and through the distance learning format.

The 2nd NEOLAiA International Conference on Narrating (Hi)Stories in Decentring Europe will take place at the University of Nicosia on 24–25 September 2026.

This interdisciplinary conference explores how plurilingual voices, storytelling, and new forms of mediation are reshaping the way we understand Europe.

Plurilingual Futures: Voices, Practices, and Reimagining Europe

We invite scholars from across disciplines to submit papers exploring topics such as:

📚 Narratives, memory, and storytelling
🌍 Plurilingualism and knowledge production
🤖 AI, language, and authority
🎓 Multilingual education in higher education
🔤 Translation and translanguaging practices

• 200-word abstract + 4–6 keywords
• Short bio (60–70 words)
