The University of Nicosia has been ranked among the world's top universities in the QS World University Rankings 2027.

UNIC is placed in the 711-720 band globally, in the top 200 in the European Union, and 3rd in Cyprus, out of 1,504 institutions assessed worldwide this year.

The result reflects strong performance in Global Engagement and Employability, with UNIC securing 1st and 2nd place among Cypriot and Greek universities in Global Engagement indicators, and 3rd place in Employability Outcomes. These outcomes point to a university with a clear international orientation and strong links to both local and global labour markets.

🎬 A Legacy of Cinematic Greatness.

Since 1961, the VGIK International Student Festival has been the launchpad for legends. From Tarkovsky to Mikhalkov, past winners have shaped the very fabric of world cinema.

UNIC Athens update (English): "Following recent Council of State (StE) decisions affecting other non-state universities in Greece, the University of Nicosia clarifies that remains entirely unaffected. Its operating licence, issued in August 2025, is fully valid and active, with no pending annulment requests and the legal deadline for new challenges having already passed. Consequently, UNIC Athens continues its operations normally, ensuring that all academic activities, current students' studies, and admissions for the 2026–2027 academic year proceed exactly as planned without any disruption."

Ενημέρωση UNIC Athens (Ελληνικά): "Με αφορμή τις πρόσφατες αποφάσεις του ΣτΕ που αφορούν άλλα μη κρατικά πανεπιστήμια, το Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας διευκρινίζει ότι το UNIC Athens δεν επηρεάζεται στο ελάχιστο. Η άδεια λειτουργίας του, που εκδόθηκε τον Αύγουστο του 2025, παραμένει πλήρως σε ισχυ και δεν εκκρεμεί καμία αίτηση ακύρωσης της, ενώ η νόμιμη προθεσμία για νέες προσφυγές έχει παρέλθει.
