On October 14–15, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University, welcomed delegations from UMass Chan Medical School–Lahey (USA) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

The UMass Chan–Lahey delegation included Susan D. Moffatt-Bruce, M.D., Ph.D., President of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center; Michael F. Collins, M.D., Chancellor of UMass Chan Medical School; Brendan Chisholm, Vice Chancellor for Management & Chief of Staff; John Heiser, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Leadership and Faculty Development; Anne C. Larkin, M.D., Senior Associate Dean of Educational Affairs; Anne C. Mosenthal, M.D., Chief Academic Officer, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center; and Diana Apetauerova, M.D., Vice Chair for Research, Department of Neurology.

The RCSI delegation was represented by Abi Kelly, Director of International Engagement and External Relations, and Róisín Moriarty, Ph.D., International Engagement Manager.

After meetings at the Charles University Rectorate and a dinner with Rector Prof. Milena Králíčková, the guests visited Pilsen, where they were welcomed by Prof. Milan Štengl, Prof. Jaroslav Hrabák, Prof. Václav Liška, Assoc. Prof. Karel Ježek, and Prof. Martin Matějovič.

The program included discussions with faculty members and Ph.D. students, and a tour of the Simulation Center, which highlights the Faculty’s innovative approach to clinical education.
