We are proud to announce that Dominik Pastorek, a student of the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT CTU), has received the Prof. Miroslav Vlček Extraordinary Scholarship for the academic year 2025/2026 on behalf of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
The award ceremony took place on 4 December 2025 at the Residence of the Mayor of Prague, where six outstanding students from Prague’s public universities were honoured. The event featured a keynote address by Czech economist, philosopher, university lecturer, and Director of the Václav Havel Library, Dr. Tomáš Sedláček, who recognised the students’ contributions to Czech higher education and society.
This scholarship commemorates Prof. Miroslav Vlček, former Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the CTU Faculty of Transportation Sciences and long-time Vice-Rector for International Relations. As the visionary founder of the Study in Prague consortium, he helped bring together seven Prague public universities and attract hundreds of international students to study in our capital city. This year, the consortium celebrates 10 years of successful collaboration.
Dominik was recognised for his exceptional work as a student ambassador, actively supporting international student recruitment and representing CTU within the Study in Prague consortium. He also contributes significantly to FIT’s outreach efforts and inspires applicants through his own engineering project, Engineering Passion, where he designs and builds a fully 3D-printed tracked vehicle capable of carrying a person.
“I truly appreciate this nomination and recognition. I am immensely grateful to everyone who has supported me,” Dominik said in his speech, extending heartfelt thanks to Ing. Daniela Illnerová, Vice-Dean for International Relations at FIT, and Mgr. Eva Marková, International Student Recruitment Manager at CTU.
Congratulations, Dominik! 🎉
Thank you for representing CTU with such dedication and passion.
