💙 Carolinum is shining blue today!

To mark Europe Day on 9 May, we illuminated the historic Carolinum building in the colours of the European Union. The blue light symbolises cooperation, solidarity, and unity across Europe. 🇪🇺

🏃 This traditional sports celebration will offer a varied programme of physical activities. Classes are cancelled on this day, so leave the lecture halls, offices, and study rooms behind, invite your colleagues and classmates, and come enjoy the unique atmosphere.

🏠 The reservation system for dormitory accommodation for the 2026/27 academic year opens on 5 May 2026.

🎓 In the first wave, reservations can be made by current residents who will remain in the dormitories continuously throughout the summer months.

🗓️ Other applicants, including new applicants, will be able to reserve their place from 1 June 2026.

🗓️ Reservations for the upcoming academic year officially open on 5 May 2026. Please note that your stay will not be extended automatically, so you must take action if you wish to remain in the dormitory.

✍️ To secure your spot, visit your dormitory's accommodation office in person between 6 May and 31 May. This step is mandatory for all current residents planning to stay for the next term.

⏳ Ensure you complete your reservation by the 31 May deadline. Taking care of this early will help you avoid any last-minute complications with your housing for the next term.

👑 Explore the legendary castle near Prague that once housed the crown jewels of Charles IV, the very founder of our university! 👑

We will do a short hike from Hlásná Třebaň to Karlštejn Castle. When the weather is nice, we will have a spring picnic there! Fun facts about the castle and its connection with our university are guaranteed. 👌 Come to get out of Prague with other students for an afternoon!

✨ Golden Graduations celebrated once again at Carolinum

On Saturday, 11 April 2026, the traditional Golden Graduations took place in the Great Hall of Carolinum for graduates celebrating 50 years since completing their studies at Charles University.

Ten faculties joined the celebrations, and across three ceremonial events, around 550 graduates from the class of 1976 commemorated this remarkable academic milestone.

💎 At the Faculty of Science, Diamond Graduations were also celebrated for the very first time.

We thank all graduates for their lifelong connection with Charles University and warmly congratulate them on this beautiful anniversary. 💛
