Why International Students Are Choosing Prague Right Now

As global study options shift, Prague has emerged as one of Europe’s most welcoming and affordable study destinations, gaining attention for all the right reasons.

A recent article from expats.cz highlights how students from the U.S., Asia, and beyond are increasingly turning to Prague as a stable, high-quality alternative to more restrictive or expensive study-abroad destinations. The reasons are clear:

_English-taught programs at accredited universities
_Lower tuition and cost of living than in Western Europe or North America
_An international community of students from more than 90 countries
_A Central European location perfect for travel and cultural exploration

At University of New York in Prague (UNYP), for instance, students experience the best of both worlds: an American-style education in the heart of Europe, with small class sizes, global faculty, and degrees recognized internationally.

Whether you are looking to transfer from another university, start a new bachelor’s program, or pursue graduate studies, Prague offers an inspiring backdrop for learning, exploration, and building your future.

Housing crunch ahead — Czech students brace for dorm and rent price hikes

📈 Student housing costs in Czechia are rising fast, and dorm space is getting tighter just weeks before the new academic year begins (link to original article from expats.cz in the comments).

Dormitory fees have increased across the country, with shared rooms in Prague now averaging around CZK 8,750/month and studio apartments often exceeding CZK 15,000. Other university cities like Brno, Pilsen, and Olomouc are seeing similar trends.

To save money, many students are turning to cheaper housing in nearby towns and commuting in—sometimes saving up to CZK 5,000 per month.

⏳ If you're a student in Czechia, now’s the time to secure your accommodation before options run out.
