Milé studentky, milí studenti, kolegyně a kolegové,
v souvislosti s válečným konfliktem na Ukrajině se na vás obracím s jasnou deklarací.
Na naší univerzitě odsuzujeme napadení suverénního státu a cítíme s ukrajinskými občany. Neuznáváme však princip kolektivní viny, ctíme zásady přátelství, spolupráce, vzájemného respektu a solidarity se všemi lidmi bez rozdílu národnosti, kterým válka nečekaně vstoupila do jejich životů.
Obracím se na Vás s prosbou o zdržení se jakýchkoliv nepřátelských projevů vůči studentům, vědcům, pedagogům i dalším zaměstnancům ruské či běloruské národnosti. Ne svojí vinou se i oni dostali do nelehké životní situace.
V České republice dodržujeme lidská práva a pouhá příslušnost k národnosti nesmí být záminkou ke konfliktům.

in connection with the war conflict in Ukraine, I seek your understanding of the following clear statement.
At our University, we condemn the invasion of a sovereign state and feel great empathy for the Ukrainian people. However, we do not support the principle of collective guilt, we honour the principles of friendship, cooperation, mutual respect and solidarity with people whose lives have been unexpectedly affected by war.
Please refrain from any hostile behaviour towards students, scientists, teachers and other employees of Russian or Belarusian nationality. It is not their fault that they, too, have to face a difficult situation in their life.
In the Czech Republic, we respect human rights, and the mere fact of nationality must not be a pretext for conflicts.
