Discover the West-Eastern Divan Festival! We're excited to be part of its inaugural edition this coming November!

🔔A new festival presented by the Daniel Barenboim Stiftung | Berlin, November 11–18, 2026

For more than 25 years, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra has brought its message of dialogue and understanding to countries around the world. Over time, the foundational idea kept expanding and taking on new identities.

The Daniel Barenboim Stiftung in Berlin and the Fundación Barenboim-Said in Seville have since been joined by the Barenboim-Said for Music in Ramallah, Berlin’s Barenboim-Said Akademie, and the Pierre Boulez Saal, which opened in 2017.

This year’s inaugural West-Eastern Divan Festival brings all of these institutions together—and makes them part of the diverse cultural landscape of Berlin. For one week, internationally renowned artists who have long been closely associated with the individual projects and their missions are joined by students and acclaimed guests to present ten concerts at different venues across the city.

Do you love music and enjoy working with children and teens? Then become part of “Music speaks” at the Barenboim-Said Akademie!

For the upcoming school year, we’re looking for music mentors of all instruments and specializations who are eager to actively help shape music education, cultural education, and intercultural encounters.

🔔 Join the team! The Akademie is currently recruiting an Admissions Assistant for the Student Office (part-time).

This role is all about supporting our applicants throughout the admission process. From reviewing and processing application documents to communicating directly with applicants and helping plan and coordinate entrance examinations, you will be a key point of contact for our future students.

Last week, students from the Barenboim-Said Akademie, led by Prof. Yael Kareth, performed at the Better World Summit organised by LSE Generate at Google's Berlin offices. Bringing music into a programme dedicated to responsible AI and innovation was a reminder that, however fast AI advances, it cannot replicate human creativity and empathy. Berlin, through the eyes of those who arrived as strangers. 💌 The final chapter of our “Musical Metropolises” series brings us home to Berlin.

Students of Prof. Yael Kareth’s Concert Curation course present an intimate musical diary exploring identity, borders, and belonging. Through the European Romantic tradition, music from the Middle East and beyond, traditional songs, and original compositions, this program is a beautiful reflection of what Berlin means to these musicians at this exact moment in their lives, as part of an individual and collective journey toward home.
