Hello TEDx people! We hope that you are excited to meet our ninth speaker at TEDxJacobsUniversity: Dr. Christian Zenger, CEO of PHYSEC and a MIT Innovator under 35 👨‍💻

Dr. Zenger studied computer science and communications engineering and received his PhD with summa cm laude in applied cryptography from Ruhr-University Bochum. He contributed to research projects for NATO, EDA, and the University of Massachusetts, before working at customizing security solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, i.e., new attacks and countermeasures in practical deployments with his company PHYSEC. Having published over a dozen publications, held several intellectual property rights, and delivered over 25 invited lectures and talks (including Harvard University, MIT, Brown University, TUM, CCC, TEDx, and the BSI), Dr. Zenger was recognized as a MIT Innovator under 35 in 2018, which is one of the most prestigious recognitions worldwide from MIT Technology Review. Apart from that, he also teaches on an academic level at Ruhr-University Bochum.

Furthermore, Dr. Zenger is the CEO and co-founder of PHYSEC, a deep-tech company specialized in IoT security. He invented the cutting-edge research field of "Applied Physical Layer Security". The company PHYSEC specializes in IoT connectivity and IoT security, as it offers innovative IoT products and solutions for vendors and operators of connected devices. PHYSEC has developed the market-leading IoT trust software '"IoTree", and with its motto - “a secure IoT as the basis of the knowledge society", the company plans to revolutionize the cyber and physical space of the future✨

Hello TEDx people! We hope that you are excited to meet Alexandra Sophie Photography - a renowned French fashion and fine art photographer based in Paris, appearing on Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in 2018 - as our next speaker for TEDxJacobsUniversity 2022 👩‍🎨📸

Considered unfit for traditional education due to her autism, she stopped school in middle school and quickly discovered photography. Her work is described as colorful and feminine, often entwining humans with nature. Her powerful and award-winning photographic work narrates stories on being human, the human being in environmental contexts - interwoven through floral themes - and explores identity and interrogations on what constitutes the "normal" frontier.

At the age of 22, Alexandra’s regular collaborations and covers include high-fashion clientele such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar UK, Chanel, Dior, Swarovski, Prada, Flair Germany among many others. As recognition for her work, Alexandra appeared in Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in 2018 and Finalist Prix Picto de la Mode 2017.

Alexandra regularly travels to universities and art festivals as a speaker and teacher, and to fields and forests around the planet to take photos within them.

Her first book "Flower Shower" is being published by Images Publishing in mid-March 2022 📚

Beyond the corporate world activities you will find Clare engaged in all things Africa from Investing, Technology/STEM, Leadership to Women and African youth Education, also actively telling and writing stories on these topics.

Hello TEDx people! You have probably seen our 5th individual on the wall in the RLH hallway. A former student of Jacobs University Bremen, Cornel Amariei, the CEO and Founder of Lumen. ✨

BIO: Cornel Amariei – Inventor, Author, Entrepreneur, known for founding .lumen – a startup that creates glasses that empower the blind to live a better life (www.dotlumen.com).

Previously, Cornel had the Head of Innovation position at Continental Automotive Systems, promoted at only 22 years old. Cornel was born in a family where both of his parents have locomotive disabilities, but rather than limiting him, these modest and different beginnings fueled his curiosity and transformed him into an innovator and entrepreneur.

Cornel is also a prolific inventor, lead inventor in over 30 patents, a musician, world traveler, industrial designer, and photographer.

For his work, Cornel Amariei became the first Romanian to be nominated for Forbes 30 under 30 Europe, the first Romanian to receive the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World award by JCI, shared in the past with personalities such as JFK and Elvis Presley, and, in 2021, the first Romanian to be a laureate of the Global Business Hall of Fame by JA, shared with Melanie Perkins, founder of Canva, and in the past, shared with personalities such as Estee Lauder or Levi Strauss.

Good day TEDx people! Today we are happy to introduce Dr. Niko Gärtner, a passionate historian and educator, as our next speaker for TEDxJacobsUniversity 2022 📚

Dr. Gärtner is a history teacher and a historian. He divides his time between his day job of being the Headteacher at Schule Kirchwerder, a comprehensive primary and secondary school in Hamburg, and his research in the History of Education. A graduate of the Doctoral School at the Institute of Education, University of London, Dr. Gärtner continues to take a keen interest in German-British cross-cultural research. In addition, Dr. Gärtner is an occasional lecturer at the History Didactics faculty at Hamburg University and a school inspector for Hamburg’s Institut für Bildungsmonitoring und Qualitätsentwicklung (IfBQ), which can be roughly translated as the Institute for Education Monitoring and Quality Development.
