💡 DIE GUTE NACHRICHT ZUERST: Bereits lizenzierte E-Books bleiben erhalten! Ihr könnt sie weiterhin wie gewohnt über unseren KatalogPlus nutzen. 📲

❌ Das hat sich geändert:
Bis Ende Mai 2026 konnten ca. 420.000 E-Books durchsucht werden. Außerdem war eine 7-Tage-Ausleihe möglich, ohne dass der Titel dauerhaft gekauft wurde. Dieser Service wird nicht mehr angeboten.
Seit Juni 2026 findet Ihr auf der Plattform allein die E-Books, für die die eine dauerhafte Linzenz gekauft hat.

💡 THE GOOD NEWS FIRST: All e-books already licensed by us remain available! You can continue to access them as usual via KatalogPlus. 📲

❌ This has changed:
Until the end of May 2026, users could search through approximately 420,000 e-books. In addition, it was possible to borrow titles for 7 days without purchasing them permanently. This service is no longer available.
Since June 2026, the platform has only included e-books for which the BIB has purchased a permanent license.

Zugegeben, es gibt unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten, eine bestimmte Gesellschaftsschicht außerhalb der eigenen kennenzulernen. Eine relativ einfache, aber äußerst faszinierende ist die der Fotografie.

Und damit sind wir bei unserem heutigen Neuerwerbungstipp angekommen: „Family Ties“ von Tina Barney. In diesem Ausstellungskatalog erhalten wir Einblicke in Familie, enge Freundschaften und die Kundschaft der renommierten Fotografin. Barney zeigt uns das Leben und die „familiären Bindungen“ innerhalb eines Milieus, das uns normalerweise verschlossen bleibt. Gleichzeitig wächst die Achtung vor der Fotografie als Kunstform.

Admittedly, there are various ways to get to know a social class other than your own. One relatively simple yet utterly fascinating way is through photography.

And that brings us to today’s recommended new acquisition: “Family Ties” by Tina Barney. In this exhibition catalog, we gain insights into family, close friendships, and the clientele of this renowned photographer. Barney shows us the life and “family ties” within a milieu that normally remains closed off to us. At the same time, our appreciation for photography as an art form grows.
