Indo German Center For Higher Education (IGCHE)

Indo German Center For Higher Education (IGCHE) IGCHE offers Bachelor programmes in Engineering with a special focus on German language qualification at PSG College and Vel Tech University in India.

The last year of the study programme takes place at one out of 6 German Universites of Applied Science. IGCHE is run by a consortium of German universities seeking to institutionalise the exchange of Indian and German students by incorporating a considerable part of bachelor studies in the other country. IGCHE has begun to establish a number of bilingual (English/German) bachelor programmes with r

eputable Indian institutions of higher education. Students joining IGCHE programmes will be offered substantial additional language training in their home country as part of their regular curriculum. Upon successful completion students will continue their studies and live in the other country for the rest of their academic education. Students of IGCHE programmes are expected to experience the foreign culture first hand and upon completion serve as substantial catalysators of Indo German Collaboration. The outstanding opportunities of this approach include a strong focus on German language qualification and substantial practical orientation. Through intensive German language training as part of the curriculum candidates are enabled to complete their 4th year in Germany. This includes attending German classes, participating in internships for German companies, and is preferably combined with a bachelor thesis of a practical orientation. Fluency in German opens excellent opportunities with respect to employability at leading German companies with business interests in India as well as Indian companies with business interests in Germany.

DAAD Prize Goes to Sanchary Biswas

The DAAD prize for exchange students with outstanding achievements and intercultural commitment was awarded yesterday to Sanchary Biswas.
In her Indo-German mechanical engineering bachelor's degree she achieved very good grades at both colleges (PSG Institute of Advanced Studies and Westfalian University of Applied Sciences). In addition, she engaged in cross-cultural activities and helped her juniors with a course on German technical terms, for example.

Congratulations both on her bachlor's degree and the prize!
