How can art, research and personal experience come together in public dialogue? 🎨💭

An exhibition organised by the Faculty of Media at Hochschule Offenburg explored this idea through Leonie Faller's bachelor’s thesis, which featured a sensory installation on dreams, memories, and the transition between sleep and wakefulness.

By combining design methods, psychological perspectives and personal experience, the project invited visitors to reflect and contribute their own interpretations. This approach reflects ’s aim of creating learning experiences that go beyond the traditional university setting and connect academia with wider society.

Leonie’s semester abroad at Mittuniversitetet (Mid Sweden Uni) adds another European dimension, showing how international mobility can broaden creative and academic perspectives.

On 4 September, as part of the initiative, South East European University (SEEU) successfully carried out sensor testing in collaboration with Vezë Sharri one of ’s Associated Partners.

This activity marks an important milestone in the development of the Smart Fridge Monitoring System, which aims to explore innovative solutions for monitoring and improving refrigeration processes through smart sensor technologies and data-driven insights.

This project component is led by Prof. Mennan Selimi, Hamit Kamberi and Samir Shabani, who are working closely with Vezë Sharri on testing, data collection and the further development of the solution.

On 3 September, Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV) hosted a training session dedicated to . The event was led by the Alliance CIO at UEV, Emmanuël Hazé, together with colleagues involved in the initiative.🤝

Each work package was represented by a dedicated expert, giving participants a comprehensive overview of the Alliance. A total of 74 staff members participated, including 25 attending in person and 49 joining online.

Academic and professional services staff learned about achievements to date, ongoing initiatives and upcoming for .

UEV firmly believes in the value of ChallengeEU and regularly organises these sessions to bring the Alliance closer to its community. This was the second training session offered to both academic and non-academic staff 🙌

Sustainability Across Borders is an interdisciplinary lecture series bringing together experts from partner universities to explore sustainability from different international and disciplinary perspectives.

Each session focuses on a broader challenge, such as sustainable mobility, food systems or energy supply. Students not only gain access to specialised knowledge, but also work in international teams to analyse real-world problems, exchange perspectives and develop possible solutions.

Meet another member of our Student Ambassadors Team! ✨

This time, we are introducing Maiara Daltoe, a PhD candidate in Design at Universidade Europeia - bringing not only creativity and a research-driven mindset, but also the perspective of an early-career researcher to the community.

🗨 I'm a PhD candidate in Design at Universidade Europeia, with research at the intersection of design and sustainable education, and 10 years of teaching experience in higher education. This path has given me one clear conviction: today's sustainability challenges call for an education that crosses disciplinary boundaries and places students at the centre of change.

That conviction is what brings me to ChallengeEU. As an Ambassador, I want to be the bridge between the project and my peers, mobilising them to co-create solutions with real impact.
