Moin aus Hamburg,
auf Grund der aktuellen Klausuren- und Pandemielage gab es die letzte Zeit nicht mehr viel von uns zuhören. Aber wir können euch stolz die ersten Testaufnahmen mit unserer neuen Videodrohne zeigen. Getestet haben wir das Ganze im Billhafen. Die Bilder machen auf jeden Fall schon mal Freude auf die ersten Aufnahmen vom Flugplatz.

due to the current exams and pandemic situation there was not much to hear from us lately. But we can proudly show you the first test shots with our new video drone. We tested the whole thing in Billhafen. In any case, the pictures make you look forward to the first recordings from the airfield.

Elly made it!
She easily survived her first flight!🎊🎉
And we are much smarter now, as we found out about her flaws and skills. We now know, that we need to increase the size of the canard to ease the handling..
If we have a look at the whole flight in general, we are more than happy about Ellys flight behavior.

Today Elly will perform her first flight and we are more than excited!
On Friday we already tested her skills on ground, as you can see in the video.
We will keep you updated about her performance in the air. We hope for the best!

May we finally present to you: Elly.
Here she is, our beautiful canard, primarily constructed and build to participate in the New Flying Competition 2018.
It’s wingspan is variable from about 4,5m to 6,4m. The idea behind the variability of the wingspan, was due to the task of the NFC, to create a model plane, that can adjust its wingspan on ground, to fit the limited size of gates at airports.
And now Elly is finally ready to fly.

What the Heck is going on?
Have you seen these boxes before?
We actually milled the shape of Ellys parts into some styrofoam and then added wood as paneling. The boxes help us transport our model from A to B and even look good.
We already teansported her to the like that.
What do you think of this idea?

So that was one rough week.
We are currently preparing for the Rollout next Thursday, where we’re going to finally show Elly to all our friends and our university..
We invited as many as we could, but unfortunately this event was more or less spontaneously planned. That means quite some work and preparation for the event but especially for finally completing Elly.
But we know it will be worth it!

This picture is by the way a back to this summer, when most of us worked on Elly for almost each day. Some even stayed until late after midnight!

It’s Friday!
Time for some fun activities not necessarily related to aviation.
