📍 „50 Jahre Kreis Steinfurt – Hier lebt's sich gut!“- Auftakt des Kunstprojekts „Atlas der Mitten“

Die AFO ist mit der "Expedition Münsterland" Partnerin des Projektes „Atlas der Mitten“, das das Regionale Kulturprogramm (RKP) fördert. Die Idee stammt@vom Künstler*induo Katerina Kuznetcowa & Alexander Edisherov.

Es lädt gemeinsam mit den Kommunen und Förder*innen des Kreises Steinfurt zum Mitmachen und Mitdenken ein.

📌 Wo ist die Mitte?
Unser Institut für Geoinformatik Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) hat in Zusammenarbeit mit der GEO-IT des Kreises den geografischen Mittelpunkt des Kreises Steinfurt exakt berechnet:

📍 7,579265° E | 52,211497° N

Auch die Mittelpunkte von Emsdetten, Greven, Hörstel, Rheine, Saerbeck und Steinfurt wurden ermittelt.

🔍 Ziel des Projekts: Den geografischen Mittelpunkt mit den persönlichen Mittelpunkten der Menschen in Beziehung setzen.

📬 Alle Bürger*innen sind eingeladen, persönliche Erinnerungen, Fotos, Karten, Videos oder Tonaufnahmen beizusteuern – per Mail an [email protected]

Bleibt gespannt: In den Ortsmitten entstehen Plaketten und Workshops – für neue Perspektiven auf Heimat & Identität.

Die Beiträge werden unter www.atlasdermitten.com, einer digitalen Karte des Kreises Steinfurt, gesammelt und veröffentlicht.

Am 2. März '23 fand die Horizon-Messe in Münster statt. Die Messe richtet sich vor allem an Abiturient*innen und Studierende zur Berufsorientierung.

Auch das Institut für Geoinformatik war mit einem Stand vertreten und konnte sich über reges Interesse freuen. Tom Niers und Jan Stenkamp als Vertreter des Instituts standen für Fragen bereit und haben u.a. unsere Sandbox präsentiert, die viele neugierige Blicke auf sich gezogen hat.

Teilnehmer:innen für Studie zum Umgang mit Smartphone-Daten gesucht (ausgerichtet vom Sitcom Lab des Instituts für Geoinformatik der WWU).

Voraussetzungen:
- aktive Nutzung eines Android Smartphones
- Zugriff auf den Google Play Store

Die Studie findet komplett online in der 2. Novemberhälfte statt, bestehend aus 3 Teilen. Studienteilnehmer:innen
- nehmen zunächst an einem Online-Webinar teil (1h am 15. oder 16. November)
- nutzen für 2 Wochen eine von uns entwickelte Android-App auf ihrem privaten Smartphone
- nehmen an einem weiteren Online-Webinar teil (1h am 1. oder 2. Dezember)

App und weitere Materialien auf Deutsch und Englisch. Die Aufwandsentschädigung für die Teilnahme an der kompletten Studie beträgt 55 Euro.

We are seeking study participants for a study on handling of smartphone data (organized by the Sitcom Lab of the Institute for Geoinformatics that belongs to the WWU).

Requirements:
- active usage of an Android smartphone
- access to the Google Play Store

The study will be carried out completely online during the second half of November and consists of 3 parts. Participants will:
- attend a one hour online-webinar (15. or 16. November)
- use an App on their own smartphone developed for this study for two weeks
- attend a second online-webinar at the end of the study (1. or 2. December)

App and materials provided in German and English. The reimbursement for participating in the complete study is 55 Euro.

We are very happy to share some great news with you: The EU commission has just confirmed the continuation of our MSc program in Geospatial Technologies as part of the Erasmus Mundus program. The European Union will therefore support 84 scholars within the next 5 ½ years with a total of EUR 3.9 million. This great achievement is not only the result of countless hours spent for preparing the extensive application, which finally succeeded over around 80 other highly competitive proposals, but also values the 15 years of experience we meanwhile have in offering this unique study program.

The MSc program in Geospatial Technologies is offered as a Joint Degree together with NOVA IMS (Portugal) and Universitat Jaume I - UJI in Castellón (Spain). The international character, however, does not only come from these three locations, but mainly from the broad range of countries the students come from. The more than 250 students who have attended the program so far came from over 50 different countries, such as Ethiopia, Brazil, USA, China, Colombia, East Timor or Jamaica.

[english text below] Seit Montag, dem 03. August, ist die Bibliothek Geowissenschaften I wieder geöffnet. Die Öffnungszeiten in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit sind:
-von Montag bis Donnerstag von 9.00 bis 17.00 Uhr
-Freitag von 9.00 bis 13.00 Uhr.

Wenn ihr euch länger in der Bibliothek aufhalten möchtet, also beispielsweise einen Lesearbeitsplatz wollt, müsst ihr euch vorher über das Onlinereservierungssystem der ULB anmelden und einen Platz reservieren.
Das Zeitfenster zum Betreten der Bibliothek ist jeweils von 9.00 bis 9.30 Uhr und von 13.00 bis 13.30 Uhr.
Wenn ihr euch Bücher ausleihen wollt, meldet eure Buchwünsche per Mail an: [email protected]. Die gewünschte Literatur wird im Postfach hinterlegt, Bücherrückgaben erfolgen über das Postfach "Bibliothek".
Auch Scanwünsche werden weiterhin erfüllt. Gruppenarbeitsplätze und Rechnerarbeitsplätze sind noch nicht nutzbar.

Since monday (03 August) the library has opened again. Opening hours are:
-Monday to Thursday 09:00 – 17:00
-Fridays 09:00 – 13:00.

For longer stays in the library (e.g. for reading or browsing through the shelves), you will need to register before using the ULB online reservation tool. Entering the library is possible from 09:00 – 09:30 and from 13:00 – 13:30. For borrowing books, you may also request the desired book(s) via e-mail ([email protected]). The book(s) will then be dropped in the mailbox and an be returned the same way (library mailbox). The library still offers to scan documents. The group and computer workspaces cannot be used at the moment. Wir, das Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi), sind Teil des Horizon - Das Event für Orientierung nach dem Abi.
Bis zum 30. Juni habt ihr die Möglichkeit einen Online-Beratungstermin mit zwei unserer Master-Studentinnen zu vereinbaren. Dort erfahrt ihr in einem persönlichem Gespräch alles, was ihr zu dem Bachelor-Studiengang der Geoinformatik wissen wollt.
Leitet diese Information auch gerne an Bekannte weiter, die beispielsweise gerade das Abitur gemacht haben!
