🌿 Successfully Wrapped: 4-Week Intensive Landscape Design Workshop! 📐✨
Over the past four weeks, our students undertook a comprehensive journey through the full lifecycle of a landscape project—bridging theoretical concepts with hands-on fieldwork and professional documentation to produce market-ready portfolios.
🎯 Workshop Objective:
To equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to design and manage comprehensive landscape projects, adhering to professional architectural standards.
🔄 Weekly Journey & Milestones:
🔹 Week 1 | Foundations & Site Analysis:
* Mastered landscape principles, spatial organization, and Design Themes.
* Conducted on-site field survey at the university site to map sun orientation, shadows, and circulation.
* Defined client personas, drafted functional programs, and developed initial Mood Boards & Master Plans.
🔹 Week 2 | Hardscape Design & Detailing:
* Studied hardscape categories, material specifications (marbles, pavers, exposed aggregate), and lighting layout.
* Drafted technical "Clean Hardscape" plans.
* Formulated comprehensive Hardscape Schedules with precise material callouts.
🔹 Week 3 | Softscape Selection & Calculations:
* Analyzed plant typologies, salt/drought tolerance (e.g., Ipomoea, Wedelia, Alternanthera), and turfgrass selection.
* Calculated planting densities using square and triangular grid formulas.
* Conducted a precedent-research library visit to examine full-scale professional drawing sets.
* Developed detailed Softscape Plans and Plant Schedules.
🔹 Week 4 | Ex*****on Drawings & Portfolio Development:
* Drafted vertical architectural sections (Sections & Elevations) showing soil profiles, root depth, and level transitions.
* Rendered 3D architectural perspectives.
* Compiled and formatted all deliverables onto standardized A3 templates to build a complete project portfolio.
