SESC Center Hosts Postgraduate Lab Visit (Tensile Testing): A Hands-On Experimental Experience.

Supporting advanced research in materials and manufacturing!
We were pleased to host MECT Master’s students conducting their research activities for the MNG 613 – Mechanical Design and Manufacturing II course (Mechatronics Master’s Program) in the Testing and Fabrication of Nano-Materials Lab.
As part of their master’s research, the students investigated the performance of 3D-printed polymer components designed using hybrid infill patterns. This approach aims to enhance mechanical strength, reduce material usage, and optimize overall performance by combining different internal structures within the printed components.
The experimental work involved tensile testing using the Instron testing machine, carried out under the supervision of the lab engineer to ensure accurate operation and adherence to standard laboratory procedures.
Through this research, the students evaluated key mechanical properties such as tensile strength and stress-strain behavior, while confirming proper fracture within the gauge length, indicating valid and reliable testing conditions.
This work reflects the integration of design, manufacturing, and experimental validation, highlighting the role of advanced material optimization in modern 3D printing technologies.
We are proud to support postgraduate research and provide a professional environment for advanced experimental work in materials testing.
The attached photos document the experimental work, including the tensile testing process, sample setup, and post-fracture specimens.

The Program of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Nile University is committed to more than just theoretical excellence; we are building a direct pipeline to the semiconductor industry.

We are proud to highlight our strategic collaboration with Si-Vision, which brings world-class industrial expertise directly into our curriculum. This initiative features specialized invited talks, including a recent session by Eng. Ahmed Hossam, Senior Team Lead of Layout IC Design at Si-Vision.

In the world of ECE, the transition from system concept to actual silicon is the ultimate test. Through this partnership, our students move past idealized models to confront the physical realities of chip design.
By integrating industry-led mentorship into the Nile University experience, we ensure our ECE graduates don't just know the theory they possess the technical craft required by top-tier employers.
