The Faculty of Pharmacy, The British University in Egypt, is pleased to announce that its Research Ethics Committee (REC) has been officially registered with the Supreme Council of Clinical Research Ethics and has received its official IRB Registration Certificate.

The Faculty extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Mohey Elmazar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Hebatallah Wagdy, Chair and rapporteur of the Research Ethics Committee; all former REC Chairs; Committee members; and colleagues who have contributed over the years to the establishment, development, and advancement of the Committee. Their dedication, sustained efforts, and valuable contributions have laid a strong foundation for this important milestone.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at The British University in Egypt (BUE) is delighted to welcome Professor Elias Hajj Chahine, Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at Palm Beach Atlantic University, USA, as an international speaker at the 2nd Pharmacy Summit 2026.

A Board-Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist, Professor Chahine is an internationally recognized expert in infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacy education, and clinical pharmacy practice. He has authored more than 125 scientific publications and received numerous awards recognizing his contributions to pharmacy education, research, and patient care.

Dr. Hatahet holds a PhD from the University of Montpellier, France, awarded through the Erasmus Mundus Avempace 2 Award. His research focuses on nanotechnology-based drug delivery, nanomedicine, and advanced pharmaceutical technologies, including transdermal delivery and ovarian cancer theranostics.

With academic and research experience at the University of Rennes 1 and Queen’s University Belfast, he brings valuable international expertise to the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
