The British University in Egypt Welcomes University of K*t Delegation to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

The British University in Egypt was pleased to welcome a senior delegation from University of K*t, Iraq, on 24/09/2026, as part of the two universities' efforts to establish a framework for future academic and research collaboration.

The delegation was headed by Professor Talib Zaidan Taaban Al-Mousawi, Chairman of the Board of University of K*t, accompanied by senior representatives of the University, including Professor Abdul Zahra Hamidi Mohsen, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Professor Adeeb Qasim Shindadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, together with the university's coordination representatives, including Associate Professor Ahmed Mostafa and Associate Professor Ahmed AbdelZaher.

The programme included visits to the university's Faculties of Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing, highlighting the university's academic programmes, facilities and expertise across the health sciences.

The Faculty of Pharmacy’s visit started by welcoming the delegation by Professor Abdelgawad Hashem, Dean of the Faculty. Then, a tour of the faculty was led by Professor Mohamed Kamal, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and was accompanied by Professor Marwa Safar, Head of Pharmacology and Biochemistry Department.

The Faculty of Dentistry welcomed the delegation through Professor Noha Kabil, Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Head of Pediatric Dentistry Department, delegated by Professor Fardous Rizk, Dean of the Faculty, and a tour was conducted in the Faculty of Dentistry Clinics.

Another tour of the Simulation Labs in the Faculty of Nursing was conducted by Professor Yaldez Zeineldin, Vice Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies, and Prof. Mona Hassan, Vice Dean for Community Service & Enterprise, delegated by Professor Maha Adel, Dean of the Faculty.

The visit concluded with a strategic meeting with Professor Tarek Abbas, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Health Cluster, during which the two sides discussed potential avenues for collaboration, including postgraduate education, joint research, postgraduate supervision, academic and student mobility, research training, capacity building and future collaborative programmes.

The British University in Egypt looks forward to building on this successful engagement and developing concrete initiatives that contribute to postgraduate education, research excellence and academic exchange between Egypt and Iraq.

🌟 Meet Our Guest Speaker – Prof. Korany A. Ali

The Faculty of Pharmacy at The British University in Egypt (BUE) is delighted to welcome Prof. Korany A. Ali, Professor of Applied & Medicinal Chemistry and Director of the R&D Centre of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries, National Research Centre (NRC), as a guest speaker at the 2nd Pharmacy Summit 2026.

A leading expert in medicinal chemistry, nanotechnology, innovation, and technology transfer, Prof. Korany serves as Executive Director of NRC Technology Incubators and has published more than 75 international scientific publications.

🌍 With international research collaborations and experience as a visiting researcher in Germany and Poland, Prof. Korany has contributed to numerous international projects connecting scientific research with industrial innovation and entrepreneurship.
