Unity and respect have always been the core of the AUC Student Movement.

The events of last Sunday have left many offended and scarred; the strikers took a rather big step escalating the situation without public consensus, which eventually resulted in them being viewed by many members of the AUC Community as transgressors. The Administration responded with suspending a number of strikers pending investigation, which escalated the situation even further where we are now at some sort of a "dead-lock" between the two parties.

However, today the strikers went back to the root of it all; UNITY. They continue to raise rightful and valid demands and they are asking you – the AUC Community – to support them. They feel ignored by the Administration – and that is not the first time the AUC Administration has ignored student demands. They believe that the only way to pressure the Administration is by shutting down the campus again on Thursday. Yet, this time, they want to do it with your permission; with the AUC Community's consensus. The choice is YOURS.

Although violence is not supported in any way, acknowledgement is due for the important and positive step the strikers took today in re-communicating with the AUC Community and recognizing that as they are acting on behalf of the students, they need their support.
With this said, the Administration is urged to absorb the situation by starting to seriously consider the strikers' demands and attempt to start a new era of open-dialogue and productivity. Furthermore, the Administration is required to conduct a fair and transparent investigation with the "suspended" students within the legal framework provided by the Student Constitution and University Laws.
