IMPROVISATION/COMPOSITION: THE CREATIVE GESTURE Open-level Master Class With Libertad Pozo Rodriguez .🤸‍♂️

“The Creative Gesture” is a three-day session open to everybody curious to explore how we can integrate daily movements and body routines into our physical and artistic performance. Writers, musicians, movers/performers, actors/actresses but also people without experience in dance & theater are more than welcome.🤸‍♂️

📍 This workshop provides a space to discover the endless possibilities of bringing the gesture into movement as a tool for choreographic work.

📍 Through different imaginary situations and using various inspiration sources as a starting point, we will create and develop the “gestures” into artistic material.

📍 During these days we will approach and reflect on the following contents:

📌 Transformation of the gesture into abstraction.

📌 The presence and dramatic intention of the gesture: how do I engage the body to feel the “weight” of the gesture? How do I create purpose and change it while moving the gesture?

📌 The rhythm/timing and different movement qualities.

📌 Dialogue between different bodies: “Adopting” someone’s gesture and practicing the uniqueness of our creation. How does my gesture change when I interact with others? What does it make my gesture remain authentic?

📌 Spatial awareness: Where do I place the gesture? Does it change its meaning when I put it in different locations/bodies?

📌 The meaning of the gesture: cultural and social aspects of the gestures. Can I change the cultural meaning associated with my gesture? How does the dramaturgy support and bring other “meaning” to our gestures?

📌 Improvisation tasks and playful theatrical exercises to hence our artistic skills and embody the gestures as a part of our mover and composer body.

These three days will become a trustful playground to explore, play, deepen in the proposal, reflect, and, above all, a place to connect with the joy of moving and being moved.🤸‍♂️

Job Description:
We seek passionate and experienced junior filmmakers to join our team as mentors/trainers for our upcoming kids' filmmaking programs. In this role, you will help young aspiring filmmakers learn the basics of filmmaking and help them express themselves and tell their own stories through film.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver interactive filmmaking activities/games for kids
- Support and motivate young filmmakers to explore their creativity and develop their skills
- Collaborate with other trainers and program coordinators to create a supportive learning environment
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants

Requirements:
- Passion for filmmaking and a desire to share knowledge and skills with young aspiring filmmakers
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in filmmaking, including knowledge of basic filmmaking principles, camera operation, script writing, and editing
- Fluent in Arabic and English communication is a plus
- Ability to deliver interactive filmmaking activities/games for kids
- Ability to work as a team player and collaborate with other trainers and program coordinators
- Ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment for kids
