الاسم الصحيح علميا لجهاز الكمبيوتر
في العصر الحديث بدا الكمبيوتر كأله آلة إينياك (ENIAC)

كانت هذه الآلة أول آلة تستخدم أكثر من 2,000 صمّاماً مفرغاً، حيث استخدمت ما يقارب 18,000 صمّاماً مفرغاً، واحتاجت لما يقارب 167 متراً مربعاً من المساحة الأرضية.
الآلة البسيطة في الفيزياء والميكانيكا، هي آلة حراكية تغير اتجاه أو قيمة القوة.
وهو ما ينطبق علي علي تسمية الحاسب الالي في ذلك الوقت لانه يعمل كا اله به قوة حركيه
لكن الكمبيوتر الحالي لا يعمل كا أله فهو ليس به حركة اثناء العمل او نقل البيانات وانما يعمل
بالنبضات الكهربائية
معني الكتروني (كمياء) عُنْصُرٌ أوَّلُ ثَابِتٌ ذُو شِحْنَةٍ كَهْرَبَائِيَّةٍ سَلْبِيَّةٍ ، أسَاسُ الآلِيَّاتِ الإلِكْتُرونِيَّةِ ، وَهُوَ أحَدُ الْمُكَوِّنَاتِ فِي ذَرَّاتِ الْمَادَّةِ
اذن بإختصار تعريف الكمبيوتر بشكل علمي انه جهاز الكتروني اي يعمل بالنبضات الكهربائية والاسم الصحيح علميا
يطلق عليه الحاسب الالكتروني او الحاسوب الالكتروني ولذلك تسميه الحاسب الالي هي تسمية قدمية ولا تتماشي مع واقع جهاز الكمبيوتر الحالي ومن الخطا علميا اطلاق اسم الحاسب الالي ولكنه الحاسب الالكتروني او الحاسوب الالكتروني طبقا لما ذكر انفا

Charles Babbage KH FRS (/ˈbæbɪdʒ/; 26 December 1791 – 18 October 1871) was an English polymath. A mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer, Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer.

Considered by some to be a "father of the computer", Babbage is credited with inventing the first mechanical computer that eventually led to more complex electronic designs, though all the essential ideas of modern computers are to be found in Babbage's analytical engine. His varied work in other fields has led him to be described as "pre-eminent" among the many polymaths of his century.

Parts of Babbage's incomplete mechanisms are on display in the Science Museum in London. In 1991, a functioning difference engine was constructed from Babbage's original plans. Built to tolerances achievable in the 19th century, the success of the finished engine indicated that Babbage's machine would have worked.
