A journey through the centuries of Spanish dramatic arts! 🎭

As part of the Study Abroad in Spain program, students in the Introducción al Análisis Literario course recently participated in a guided visit to the Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares, one of the oldest preserved theaters in Europe.

Through an exploration of this historic performance space and its rich cultural legacy, students gained valuable insight into the development of Spanish theater and the literary traditions that have shaped Spain’s cultural identity.

The visit provided an opportunity to connect course concepts with the historical and social contexts in which dramatic works were created and performed!

Back at Finca Río Negro! 🍇

This year, our students from The University of Oklahoma once again enjoyed a visit to one of the region’s most unique wineries, where they explored the vineyards, learned about local traditions, and experienced a different side of Spanish culture.

Through conversations, stories, and hands-on learning, they discovered how generations of dedication have helped preserve the character and heritage of this remarkable family estate.

An unforgettable day of learning, culture, and connection in the heart of Spain!

What a start to the summer for our students from The University of Oklahoma! 🌞

Since arriving in Alcalá de Henares last week, students have settled into their new surroundings, participated in orientation sessions, and begun their academic journey in Spain.

Beyond the classroom, they've already explored some of the country's most iconic destinations, including Madrid, Toledo, El Escorial, and Segovia—experiencing firsthand the history, culture, and heritage that make Spain such a unique place to study abroad.

Their Study Abroad in Spain adventure is just getting started!

From orientation to the classroom! 😎

After exploring the Universidad de Alcalá campus and learning about student life in Alcalá de Henares during orientation, our Study Abroad in Spain students have officially begun classes today.

Over the next month, they will engage in a diverse range of courses focused on Spanish language, culture, literature, history, translation, healthcare communication, gastronomy, and the arts—guided by expert faculty in an immersive academic environment.

A month of learning, cultural discovery, and personal growth starts now!
