Social Enterprise Development Partnerships, Inc. (SEDPI) is a Philippine-based private organization founded in 2004 that specializes in delivering innovative capacity-building services and social investments to microfinance institutions, social enterprises, and microenterprise stakeholders.

SEDPI’s mission is to empower low-income households and nanoenterprises by promoting financial literacy, sustainable social entrepreneurship, and community-rooted development. Their unique partnership-based model prioritizes savings over debt and emphasizes shared risks and rewards. Rooted in Filipino cultural values like mutual aid (damayan), SEDPI fosters inclusive, resilient communities through ethical finance and education.

Students gained valuable insights into alternative business models that generate lasting social impact. They experienced firsthand how a social enterprise can successfully balance economic viability with community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and social equity, embodying sustainable and transformative approaches.

Dr. Needhipati is a distinguished leader in data analytics, business strategy, and technological innovation with over two decades of experience at major organizations like Shell, Gartner, and Orion.

He is known for transforming how enterprises use data to drive decision-making and align technical vision with business goals. A Doctorate in Business Administration graduate from the Swiss School of Management, his research covers strategic marketing analytics, event optimization through Wi-Fi tracking, and AI’s dual role in misinformation.

Dr. Jerome is recognized for pioneering “citizen development” to democratize data and developing AI-driven systems that convert insights into action. His recent work addresses the effort paradox in AI, aiming for more sustainable and efficient intelligence. He believes data catalyzes ethical and intelligent business transformation.

Dr. Jerome currently serves on the Indian Council of Technical Research and Development and exemplifies the academic and practical rigor celebrated at SSM Barcelona.

ISASS-SSM Barcelona students recently visited the Ateneu de Fabricació as part of their Innovation and Design Thinking module, immersing themselves in a hands-on environment dedicated to creativity, technological exploration, and social impact.

The Ateneu, located in the historic Barrio de Gracia, is a pioneering space where students gain access to advanced tools like 3D printers, scanners, and laser cutters—enabling them to transform their innovative ideas into tangible prototypes and solutions.​

During their visit, students participated in a guided workshop on creating biomaterials from which they will create their products. The products that they will create will then be used in their Digital Marketing campaign class. Because they are involved in the creation of the product from start to end, they will be able to tell a concrete story about the materials used, the design, the inspiration, and the entire story behind their product.

The facility’s unique ecosystem blends technology, creativity, and learning, offering opportunities for interdisciplinary teamwork and experiential learning crucial for developing real-world innovation capabilities.

With the timely topic 'AN EXPLORATORY STUDY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION GREEN BOND REGULATION AND TÜRKIYE’S ADAPTATION STRATEGIES', you were able to impress your panel members, Dr.Karen Barranon, Dr. Olga Kanashina and Dr. Vasileios Margaritis.

Burcu is the recipient of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme (JMSP), an EU-funded program that offers scholarships to Turkish citizens for postgraduate studies or research in EU member countries, focusing on topics related to the EU acquis and integration process to enhance Turkey's administrative capacity and human resources in EU-related fields. The scholarships cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other costs, to foster dialogue and strengthen academic and professional ties between Turkey and the European Union.

Burcu is now heading an important department of a public bank in Turkey.
