🌿 What if rethinking our relationship with nature could also reshape the way we do research?
This summer, 25 early-career researchers and practitioners from EUTOPIA and beyond gathered in Portugal for the first CENSE - Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research, exploring the theme of People and Nature (Lack of) Connectedness.
Co-organised by academics from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and the University of Warwick involved in EUTOPIA’s HoPE Nexus Connected Community, the training took place at Convento da Arrábida, surrounded by the natural beauty of Arrábida Natural Park.
Through workshops, field visits, creative sessions and cross-disciplinary exchanges, participants challenged conventional research approaches, explored new perspectives and reflected on how our relationship with nature connects to wellbeing and sustainability 🌱
💬 The experience left a lasting impression. As participant Bindu Devkota Sapkota put it: “The dilemma-framing sessions and wider discussions provided valuable insights that have helped me further develop my research ideas around people–nature connectedness, wellbeing and clinical leadership.”
