Three campuses. Three adventures. One unforgettable student experience.

Over the past few weeks, Schiller students have been making memories across Europe.

🌲Heidelberg students explored the Black Forest, learning about sustainability while enjoying one of Germany's most iconic natural landscapes.

🗺 Paris students headed to Athens on a Student Council-organized trip filled with culture, connection, and discovery.

🎭 Madrid students spent the day exploring the Wax Museum (Museo de Cera de Madrid), sharing laughs, photos, and a different perspective on history and popular culture.

While every destination was different, each experience brought students together, created new connections, and added another chapter to their international journey.

Because some of the best parts of university aren't found on a timetable. They're the experiences you share, the places you discover, and the people you meet along the way.

New city. New campus. New connections.

Last week, our welcomed a new cohort of BS in students for the Summer term, making the most of Heidelberg's sunny season and vibrant student atmosphere.

From exploring Bahnstadt through scavenger hunts and photo challenges to meeting faculty, discovering academic opportunities, and connecting with fellow students, was designed to help students feel at home from day one.

The week also included academic onboarding, outdoor activities, a Student Council-led tour of Heidelberg's historic Old Town, and plenty of opportunities to build friendships before classes begin.

Because starting university isn't only about finding your classroom. It's about finding your community.

Welcome to Heidelberg, and welcome to the Schiller family!💙

💬 What advice would you give to someone starting university in a new country?

On May 29, our campus came together to celebrate a milestone in the journeys of a remarkable group of global citizens🎓🌍

Surrounded by faculty, families, friends, and the Schiller community, the Class of 2026 marked the culmination of years of hard work, personal growth, and international experiences that have shaped who they are today.

This year's Commencement theme, "Responsible Leaders for an Inclusive Future," reflected the values that have guided our graduates throughout their time at Schiller: curiosity, resilience, collaboration, and a commitment to creating positive impact. It also reinforces our institutional commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly : Gender Equality, which we continue to champion across our activities this year.

The ceremony featured opening remarks from Heidelberg Campus Director Sanja Stevic and a commencement address from U.S. Consul General Brian Heath, who encouraged graduates to embrace the opportunities ahead and reminded them that their Schiller education has prepared them to make a meaningful impact as global citizens.

A special congratulations to our award recipients:
🏆 Undergraduate Valedictorian: Marc Boyd
🏆 Graduate Valedictorian: Chelsea Troke
🏆 Schiller Award Recipients: Alexis Mae Chiong, Carl von Hennigs, Ahata Domych, and Sophia Nau
🏆 Instructor of the Year: Dr. Natalya Burkle

Our Provost, Prof. Saib Othman, in his closing remarks, welcomed graduates into Schiller's global alumni community and encouraged them to remain curious, courageous, and open to the opportunities that lie ahead.

To our graduates: your degrees are only part of your story. The friendships you've built, the perspectives you've gained, and the experiences you've shared across cultures will travel with you wherever your future takes you.

You leave Heidelberg as graduates. You leave Schiller as alumni. And you join a global community that will continue to learn, grow, and lead together—for a more inclusive and equitable future.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We cannot wait to see what comes next!💙

Study abroad instead of waiting🎓

Choosing where to study is about more than a degree. It's about the people you'll meet, the opportunities you'll discover, and the perspective you'll gain along the way.

This June, we're inviting future students to explore what an international education looks like in practice. Meet our team, ask your questions, and discover how a global mindset can open doors across industries, countries, and cultures.

The next chapter of your story starts with a conversation.

Understanding geopolitics is one thing. Discussing it with a diplomat actively shaping international relations is another🌍

On May 27, our welcomed Alexander Chkuaseli, Ambassador of Georgia to Spain, accredited to Andorra and Morocco, and Permanent Representative at UN Tourism, for a special edition of moderated by Dr. Miriam J. Bernal, Dean of International Relations and Diplomacy.

With more than two decades of experience across diplomacy, international cooperation, security, and public affairs, Ambassador Chkuaseli shared valuable insights into 's strategic role in an evolving European and global landscape.

The discussion explored some of the most relevant issues shaping international affairs today: regional security, energy connectivity, diplomacy, international cooperation, and the impact of shifting geopolitical dynamics across Europe and beyond.

For our students, the opportunity to engage directly with a senior diplomat brought these topics to life, offering perspectives that go far beyond headlines and helping them better understand the complexities of today's international environment.

A sincere thank you to Ambassador Alexander Chkuaseli for sharing his expertise and experience with our community, and to our students for their thoughtful questions, active participation, and engagement throughout the discussion!

At Schiller, experiences like IRD Talks are an essential part of how we prepare future diplomats, policymakers, analysts, and global professionals: by connecting students with the people, institutions, and conversations shaping the world today.

Advancing gender equality starts with creating opportunities for women to connect, lead, and be heard✨

On May 20, our campus had the honor of hosting the launch of the United States chapter of the World Women Talent System (WWTS) in our newly expanded 9th-floor facilities.

The event brought together inspiring leaders, professionals, and organizations from different countries, united by a shared commitment to supporting women through leadership, collaboration, and community.

We were especially proud to see our Tampa Campus Director, Suheily Martinez Plaza, participate as a panelist alongside one of our students, representing Schiller's commitment to developing future leaders and expanding opportunities for women in education and beyond.

As part of this initiative, Schiller also sponsored the participation of a student from Joven Latina, helping provide access to valuable networking, learning, and leadership experiences.

Events like this reflect our commitment to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality. By creating spaces where women can build connections, share experiences, and access new opportunities, we help support the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

A heartfelt thank you to WWTS, the speakers, attendees, and everyone who contributed to such an inspiring event!
