African Native languages should have to for Education and for Administration. Africa could be more fruit able if and only if they able to teach higher education by their native languages. Around Becho area there are so many farmers who lead their life through backward land farming system as like as other parts of Oromia Region. But no Minilik , no Hailesilase ,No military junta Mengistu Hailemariam, no Pseudo Tplf gov't able to change their life from this backward practice. Every time may be you have seen on their episode TV Program no more than two farmers’ life style. As i understand both of them also able to change their life maybe for the matter of time or via search another farmer’s handkerchief. So, all of us have to struggle to change our families life style according to our profession. As result, it should have to be supported by society based research and an organized center to carry out this Society based research.

This morning at IGAD Headquarters in Djibouti, I received a delegation from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), led by Brig. Gen. Kenneth Muheire, who conveyed an invitation from H.E. Gen. to attend the Conference on Military Operations Other Than War.
I appreciate the invitation and look forward to discussions that advance African solutions to African challenges.
In an increasingly complex world, African unity and strong multilateral institutions are indispensable to our shared security and stability. IGAD will continue to champion collective action, guided by one enduring truth: Africa’s peace is indivisible—our continent cannot prosper in fragments.

Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos received U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia earlier today.

The two sides discussed ways of further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United States, including expanding trade, investment and commercial ties between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on regional peace and security issues of mutual interest.

It is recalled that Ethiopia and the United States held a bilateral structured dialogue in Washington, D.C., on May 11, 2026, focusing on three key areas: economic prosperity, trade and investment; defense and security cooperation; and the promotion of regional peace and stability.

We will return to the local community 90 per cent of the 240,000 acres that were unjustly appropriated by the colonial authorities for Magadi Soda Mining even as we accelerate the issuance of title deeds to residents in the area.

The Ministry of Water will restore water supply to the people of Magadi by next week while the Kajiado County Government will take over the operations of the local hospital in Magadi Town to ensure that residents continue receiving health services.

Our priority is to ensure that the people of Magadi benefit meaningfully from the resources in their land and that investors operate responsibly and contribute to the local economy.

Launched the rehabilitation of the Nguruman Block A Irrigation Project, which we are undertaking at a cost of KSh500 million to put 2,000 acres of land under irrigation, boost agricultural production and improve the livelihoods of our farmers.

Salale University Library Services Directorate, in collaboration with Addis Ababa University Library, has provided a capacity-building training program for library staff aimed at strengthening professional competencies and improving the quality of library services. The training program was focused on strengthening the capacity of library staff to deliver efficient, responsive and student-centered services while contributing to the modernization of library operations.

During the closing ceremony, Salale University President Dr. Feyera Dinsa emphasized the importance of sustained efforts to digitalize library services and create a conducive environment where students can read and access learning resources effectively.
Dr. Fayera underscored that strengthening library services requires the commitment and coordinated efforts of staff to ensure that university students receive improved and accessible academic support.

The Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, Dr. Tsegaye Deyou, also highlighted the importance of building the capacity of human resources in providing modern and effective library services.
Dr. Tsegaye emphasized that the training would equip staff with the skills needed to provide effective and quality library services.

In his remarks, the Director of the Library System Directorate, Mr. Kasaye Asres, stated that the University is committed to providing modern and digital library services to support and enhance the teaching and learning process. He also emphasized that the trainees should put the knowledge and skills they gained from the training into practice.
Finally, he expressed his appreciation to the trainers from Addis Ababa University for delivering the training.

Former President Joe Biden and Jill Biden will attend New York’s ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Biden will join former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton at the World Trade Center site, bringing all four living former presidents together for the commemoration.

The annual ceremony will center on relatives reading the names of those lost. Seven solemn moments of silence are to mark when the hijacked planes struck and the towers fell, the attacks on the Pentagon and Flight 93, and people who later died from September 11-related illnesses. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and changed the nation forever.

President Donald Trump will not attend the Ground Zero gathering and plans to commemorate the anniversary at the Pentagon. Vice President JD Vance will represent the administration in New York.

Reports said Trump’s decision was influenced partly by the ceremony’s prohibition on political speeches, although he rejected that account and said he was going to the Pentagon. The Manhattan program has excluded political remarks since 2012 to keep attention on victims and their families.

H.E. Ambassador General Bacha Debele Buta, Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Kenya and Permanent Representative to UNON, UNEP and UN-Habitat paid a farewell courtesy call on the United Nations office in Nairobi (UNON) Director-General, H.E. Zainab Hawa Bangura on 3rd September 2026.

During their discussion, Ambassador General Bacha expressed deep appreciation for the United Nations' support for Ethiopia’s national development programs, particularly in the areas of climate change and urban development. He also highlighted Ethiopia's active participation in advancing global agendas on these critical fronts.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Ethiopia's enduring commitment to multilateral partnership with UNON and extended his best wishes for the continued success of collaborative efforts.
