Summer Schools in Angers

Our summer schools offer the opportunity to be exposed to research methods in different medical/scientific fields.

Since 2010, the University of Angers has given international students and young professionals the opportunity to enrich their academic experience in a stimulating and relaxed environment, while discovering French culture and the Anjou region. You will have the chance to interact with international researchers and students. Each program includes conferences, debates, hands-on activities, visits of

research facilities and an attractive social program. Come to Angers and discover a new field in a motivating environment !

The office of the Summer schools in Angers will be at participants' service Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5.00 pm. The staff will be available for questions and support, in-person on the Faculty of Health campus or by phone.

Local students will guide you during your stay. They will es**rt you during social activities and be available throughout the day for assistance. We will introduce them soon... stay tuned!

Each Summer school will close with a convivial ceremony where participants will be handed a diploma and 3 ECTS for their attendance and active participation.

📍Both the Research in Neurosciences and Engineering Summer schools will take place at the Faculty of Health, 28 rue Roger Amsler in Angers. The faculty is situated along tram line A (stop: Capucins) and it's a 30-minute walk to the city centre.

Angers is located in the West of France, approximately 300 km from Paris. The closest airports to the University of Angers are Paris-Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris-Orly airport and Nantes airport.

🚄 from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport
- 3 direct TGV (high speed trains) a day to Angers Saint-Laud train station (travel time: 2.5 hours)
or
- take a suburb train to Montparnasse train station (1.5 hours), then a direct TGV to Angers (1.5 hours, around 13 departures a day)

🚅from Orly aiport
- Take the metro to Montparnasse train station (30 min), then get a direct train to Angers (1.5 hours).

🚈from Nantes airport
- Take the airport shuttle to Nantes train station (20 min), then get a direct train to Angers (40 min).

Want some coffee? ☕️

Relax after participating actively in your programme workshops. Coffee, tea and juices are available during coffee breaks.

Don't underestimate their power. A lot of fascinating discussions happen during coffee breaks between attendees and speakers. This is where contacts are made and projects are taking seed.

In a couple of weeks now, our Neurosciences and Engineering Summer schools will host students from 15 different nationalities! We are extremely glad to connect students from across the World while helping them to pursue their academic interests and we can't wait to meet them!

IMPORTANT Summer schools participants must provide their own medical insurance for their stay in France.

Adequate health insurance provides coverage for:
🩺 Treatment and medications administered overseas
🚑Emergency evacuation should you need to be rushed to a hospital overseas or back to your home country

If you are an EU citizen, the copy of the European health insurance card is fully enough.

If you are not an EU citizen, please check if your current international health insurance provides adequate coverage while you are abroad.

We also recommend you to have a liability insurance/third party insurance, especially if you consider doing activities other than the ones included in the social programme during your stay.

A student from the University of Angers will guide your course group during your stay. Our buddy students have a special interest in internationalisation and they have their hearts set on showing you our beautiful city!

Your buddy will guide you on the campus and take you to the classrooms and university restaurant, he/she explain what you can have and translate the list of ingredients if needed and give you useful tips to get around Angers.

A big cheer to all our buddies from the past Summer schools for their wonderful job!
