The day focused on exploring innovative teaching approaches and practical tools to support the integration of sustainability competencies into higher education programmes.

We concluded the day with a dinner at Restaurant in the city centre of Dijon.
The restaurant was selected as part of a local initiative promoting places committed to a more sustainable approach ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฑ Until this afternoon, international university lecturers, trainers, educational developers and project partners will continue working together on one key question: โ€œHow can universities integrate sustainability across all degree programmes?โ€

In other words, how can higher education move beyond theory towards genuine competence in order to prepare students for the planetary challenges ahead? ๐ŸŽ“

๐ŸŒ Sustainability is more than just protecting the environment.

Itโ€™s about balance.

The 3 pillars of sustainability remind us that a truly sustainable future must be :
๐ŸŒฑ Environmentally responsible
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Socially equitable
๐Ÿ’ผ Economically viable

๐Ÿ‘‰ Why it matters to you as a student ?
โœ… Better employability
โœ… Future-proof skills
โœ… Real-world impact

We integrate these principles into higher education through the GREENVERSITY Core, a framework adapted from the European Commissionโ€™s GreenComp model.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Because tomorrowโ€™s professionals need more than knowledge โ€” they need sustainable thinking.

Why do we focus on the GreenComp ? ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“

โ™ป๏ธ The GREENVERSITY project leverages the GreenComp framework to strategically foster sustainability competences in higher education.

By aligning with GreenComp, we :

1๏ธโƒฃ Standardise our approach
2๏ธโƒฃ Enhance learning outcomes
3๏ธโƒฃ Support European Union sustainability goals
4๏ธโƒฃ Prepare future leaders

These are relevant challenges and opportunities for higher education, aren't they ?

โ™ป๏ธ GREENVERSITY is a 3-year project dedicated to integrating the European ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บGreen Competence Framework into higher education ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿƒ

Our mission is to empower universities, educators & students with the essential skills, knowledge and attitudes to lead sustainable transformations in society.

A framework that benefits the planet ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŽฏ The GreenComp, or Green Competence Framework, is a reference model for sustainability competences. It focuses on 12 competences organised into four key areas :
๐Ÿƒ Embodying Sustainability Values
๐Ÿƒ Embracing Complexity in Sustainability
๐Ÿƒ Envisioning Sustainable Futures
๐Ÿƒ Acting for Sustainability

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ It provides a common foundation for all learners and offers guidance to educators and institutions, to design inclusive and effective learning opportunities aimed at developing sustainability-related skills, knowledge, and attitudes ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ“

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ This framework aligns with the EUโ€™s green skills agenda, supporting critical thinking, environmental responsibility, and active engagement with ecological challenges at all levels of education.

๐Ÿค Over the next two years, we'll be working to integrate the GreenComp into higher education ๐Ÿซ
