The HEC Paris MBA Wine, Spirits & Beer Club recently traveled to the heart of Cognac for an immersive experience exploring the craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation behind the spirit of Cognac.

They visited Frapin, where they learned about the influence of cellars and aging environments on flavor. At Jean-Luc Pasquet, they experienced exceptional hospitality and gained insight into Cognac production on a smaller scale. At Hennessy, they saw the scale, precision, and long-term vision behind one of the world’s leading maisons.

What made the experience particularly valuable, say club members, was seeing how each producer expresses terroir and interprets innovation in its own distinct way.

A huge thank you to all the teams who welcomed our MBA participants so generously, sharing their expertise, and providing behind-the-scenes insight into such a fascinating field.

It's bittersweet, over in a flash. You arrived just two minutes ago, and now you're throwing your caps in the air. The late nights, the caffeine overload, the group projects, done. We've tested your mettle in every way we knew how, and you're being released into the world to keep on shining bright. You've succeeded.

Meghna Gandhi (MBA ’27), President of the Marketing Club and Head of Marketing for MBAT, believes leadership is about bringing people together and creating opportunities for others to thrive. Through leading one of Europe’s largest MBA events and building communities at HEC Paris, she has learned that trust, resilience, and authentic relationships matter far more than titles or hierarchy.

The HEC Paris MBA experience that most shaped the leader Meghna is today: heading marketing for MBAT. "It showed me that leadership is rarely about having all the answers. Instead, it is about staying calm under pressure, making people feel supported, and helping a team move forward together even during uncertainty.

Most importantly, the experience made me realize how much I enjoy building communities and creating experiences that bring people together."

A big piece of advice for future cohorts: Focus! "If you give 100% of yourself to your dream, opportunities will continue to present themselves to you and perhaps not in the way you imagined, and naturally, your plan B or C will become clearer to you as a result of devoting yourself to the thing you love. Your MBA is your opportunity to craft your career, not simply find your next job."

The HEC Paris MBA Entrepreneurship Specialization has a unique finish line: MBA students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders gather for an evening dedicated to innovation, ambition, and the future of deeptech entrepreneurship.

In December, six HEC Paris MBA teams pitched real deeptech ventures at the Lab2Biz Grand Jury: from satellite propulsion powered by space debris, to AI-accelerated chip design, to biotech extending the life of anti-aging enzymes.

Two teams won. All six teams left as entrepreneurs.

Aayushee Shukla (MBA’27), President of the Product Management Club at HEC Paris, believes leadership is less about authority and more about creating space for others to thrive. From working in male-dominated industries to navigating the collaborative culture of HEC, her journey has reshaped how she views resilience, relationships, and the power of showing up authentically.

Her advice to women of the next HEC Paris MBA cohort: "Put yourself out there."

The magic of HEC, she says "happens in the conversations at midnight, the friendships built over failed projects, the random Wednesday that turns into a memory you will talk about for years. Being out there is what brings people and opportunities closer to you. This experience comes around once. Do not hold back."
