✨Spotlight on Women Club Leaders

Aayushee Shukla (MBA’27), President of the Product Management Club at HEC Paris, believes leadership is less about authority and more about creating space for others to thrive. From working in male-dominated industries to navigating the collaborative culture of HEC, her journey has reshaped how she views resilience, relationships, and the power of showing up authentically.

Her advice to women of the next HEC Paris MBA cohort: "Put yourself out there."

The magic of HEC, she says "happens in the conversations at midnight, the friendships built over failed projects, the random Wednesday that turns into a memory you will talk about for years. Being out there is what brings people and opportunities closer to you. This experience comes around once. Do not hold back."

We are so proud to share that a team of HEC Paris MBA students took first place at the IESE Impact Fund Impact Investing Competition, held at IESE Business School — competing against seven MBA teams from across Europe.

The team functioned like a well-oiled machine: Tuo Fang Ren handled team structure and board analysis, Mohit Bhagwani focused on sustainability, Hao Cai CFA held down the financials, Rauf Chebaro Reyes drove the product thesis, and Rahil R Lawana came through on risk and negotiations. Together they built a rigorous investment thesis around a deep-tech company whose environmental impact was structurally embedded in the business model. They navigated due diligence, a governance deep-dive, and a live term sheet negotiation.

And they won.

Congratulations to a group of students who showed that they can bring financial discipline, cross-functional thinking, and a genuine point of view to the most demanding investment contexts.

Thank you to the IESE Impact Fund and the competition organizers for creating a process that truly mirrors the rigour of a live deal. A big thanks from the team to Professor Benedicte Faivretavignot and to Piyawat Eakthanyawong, co-president of the Sustainability Club, for their expertise and prep help, and Aman Uttam who shared his past experience with the competition.

From 14 to 19 April 2026, the 20th edition of the Global MBA Trophy brought together more than 250 sailors from 14 leading business schools in Microlimano, Piraeus, Athens. Hosted by London Business School and the Yacht Club of Greece, the regatta fielded 40 boats across three divisions, mixing alumni and current students for two days of racing on 17–18 April, complemented by a welcome ceremony, a race dinner and a formal gala awards evening.

The 2026 fleet brought together HEC Paris, INSEAD, IE Business School, Kellogg/WHU, London Business School, SDA Bocconi, Tuck (Dartmouth), Saïd (Oxford), Rotterdam Erasmus, POLIMI GSoM, Warwick, Wharton, Yale and the local Athens University of Economics and Business.

Racing took place across the Saronic Gulf, against the backdrop of the Athens skyline. The fleet was split into three divisions: Division A (21–25 ft racing boats, the most competitive class), Division B+ (36–44 ft racer/cruisers) and Division B (40–50 ft cruisers with a professional skipper). Within Division A, boats were further separated into a gold and a silver fleet on day two, based on day-one standings. The overall 2026 trophy went to IE Business School, with podium positions celebrated at the Yacht Club of Greece gala.

For the first time, HEC Paris entered a full team in each of the three divisions — 19 sailors blending alumni and current students — and, also for the first time, lined up in the most competitive Division A class in Athens. Our Division A crew finished 3rd in the silver fleet of Division A, a strong debut in the championship’s elite class.

It's hard to describe. You join an MBA program reknowned for sharpening its partipants' leadership skills. Next thing, you're geared up, racing your peers across the campus lake. And trust us, it's linked.

During the Outdoor Leadership Seminar, our MBA students take turns leading teams in a variety of tasks. They are getting to know themselves, their classmates, and how to make decisions in an unfamiliar setting.

✨Spotlight on Women Club Leaders

Meet Shreya Pal (MBA ’27), President of the HEC Paris MBA Healthcare Club. Through shaping the club’s vision, fostering collaboration, and creating spaces for meaningful connection, she embodies a thoughtful, authentic approach to leadership grounded in self-awareness, initiative, and impact.

An accomplished scientist who also makes time to host a carefully curated monthly supper club for her friends, Shreya is currently doing an internship at the Institut Pasteur.

Of her dinners: "It’s important to me because it reflects a different side of leadership, one that’s about bringing people together, creating environments where others feel comfortable, and building meaningful connections. In the middle of a fast-paced MBA, it’s been both grounding and energizing, a reminder that impact doesn’t always come from formal roles but also from the spaces you create."

We know that Shreya will continue to create unique and authentic spaces in the MBA and beyond.

Proud of our HEC Search Fund Club for co-hosting one of Europe's leading ETA gatherings!

400+ students, searchers, investors, and operators. Two days. One clear signal: ETA in Europe is no longer emerging - it is scaling.

The club had the privilege of co-hosting the 7th Annual Student-Led ETA Conference at London Business School alongside IESE Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School.

This year's theme, "Disruption in European ETA," set the tone perfectly:
- The rise of AI in sourcing and operations
- New and evolving search models
- The growing relevance of holdcos, roll-ups, and serial acquisition strategies

From the Women's Search Network panel to a full day of high-energy discussions and networking - the room confirmed what many of us already feel on the ground.

For HEC Paris, co-hosting wasn't just about presence. It was about actively shaping the European ETA ecosystem by strengthening ties across top business schools, connecting our community with leading investors and operators, and cementing HEC as a key hub for the next generation of searchers.

A couple weekends ago, our campus was buzzing with something a little different. 🛠️

Over 60 builders from across the HEC community - MBA, other programs, and even alumni - came together for the very first VIBEATHON, hosted by the HEC MBA Entrepreneurship Club (VIBE).

The idea was simple: create a space at the intersection of business and technology where builders could ideate, create, and think big. What followed was a full day of vibe-coding, venture-building, and the kind of energy that reminds us why we love this community.

Events like this don't happen without people who care deeply. A huge thank you and congratulations to the student team behind the vision: Neeharika Hemrajani, Léopold Forest, Clementine Pouille, Aayushee Shukla, Ayushman Poddar, and Hector Jimenez.

Thank you to credit sponsors OpenAI, Lovable, and Cursor, and to every speaker, judge, and guest who showed up and shared their stories.

This is exactly what HEC Paris is about — students who don't wait for permission to build something great.

And word has it there's an offline hack coming in May... 👀
