Nouveau poster scientifique : le projet ANR AMERICA 2026 présenté dans la Galerie du CRHIA

La Galerie du CRHIA accueille un nouveau poster scientifique consacré au projet de recherche ANR AMERICA 2026 : AMérique, Europe, Révolutions, Indépendance et Commémorations dans l’espace Atlantique, coordonné par Bertrand Van Ruymbeke Université Paris 8

À l’approche du 250ᵉ anniversaire de la Déclaration d’Indépendance des États-Unis en 2026, ce projet étudie l’impact majeur de la Révolution américaine sur les sociétés européennes et sur les colonies américaines au XVIIIᵉ siècle. Il s’intéresse également à la manière dont cet événement a été commémoré et interprété dans les décennies et siècles suivants, de part et d’autre de l’Atlantique.

Le poster, conçu par Virginie ADANE et Eric SCHNAKENBOURG, offre un aperçu des axes de recherche et des enjeux historiographiques portés par AMERICA 2026

Les étudiants, enseignants et visiteurs sont invités à venir découvrir cette nouvelle présentation au sein de la galerie.

Venez également découvrir une exposition composée de 12 panneaux autour de la Révolution Américaine. Les panneaux sont exposés dans le grand hall du bâtiment Tertre et ont été réalisé par Virginie ADANE, Eric SCHNAKENBOURG et Marie BOISCOMMUN.

Contested freedoms on both sides of the Atlantic: AMERICA2026 held a roundtable during Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture « For 2026 » conference on Contested Freedoms. Annika Bärwald, Mathieu Ferradou, Megan Maruschke and Christine Mertens spoke about mobilities, subjugation and freedom in the Atlantic world during the age of revolutions. Thank you to them and thank you to the organizers at Omohundro Institute for a great opportunity for transcontinental conversation!

Tomorrow, Steve Sarson will present a paper entitled: “'A distant people': History, Slavery, and Race in the US Declaration of Independence.” during the Friday Seminar of the McNeil Center for Early American Studies, hosted by the Museum of the American Revolution. The conference is hybrid, so register and join in!
