MUN-Lyon is the academic simulation of the United Nations organs at Sciences Po Lyon.

The first instances of Model United Nations was the Model League of Nations Assembly. The first recorded meeting of a simulation of a Model League of Nations was run by Harvard University in 1927. In 1946, the League of Nations was dissolved and the United Nations was established. In 1947, the Model League of Nations changed into the Model United Nations Assembly. In the 1980s, the United Nations Association of the United States of America(UNA-USA) was established to coordinate and track the development of MUNs on a global level. Nowadays, MUNs are created in numerous universities of political sciences, international relations and economics across the world.

Model what ??? Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the different United Nations organs and other forums of international relations and asks students to take on the role of world leaders. Each delegate represents the viewpoint of a single Member State of the United Nations, researching that country's policy and advocating these views to other delegates. MUN-Lyon is a society which prepares students from Sciences Po Lyon to MUN conferences through debates and workshops. They are both in English and controlled using conventions and rules based on those used at genuine international summits. Want to join?
