Its time again to say good bye to another one of our stagiaires, the lovely Emma Fieldhouse.

Having joined us back in February Emma has done a brilliant job of working not only with the international clients, but on her own project starting up the new software iboost. A core member of the working team she will truly be missed by all, especially those who are lucky enough to receive her hourly snap chats!!!

Moving onto her final placement in Disneyland Paris we wish her all the luck in the world and expect daily updates of her time with Mickey!!

Bonne chance et tu vas nous manquer! Bisous !!

Word of the day – yaourter

The word 'yaourter' (to yoghurt) is a French word for the way people attempt to speak or sing in a foreign language that they don’t know very well. Often they mishear and misinterpret the word or lyrics and substitute them with familiar words.

For example the Queen song “I want to break free” becomes “I want a steak frites”.

It’s not just the French who 'yoghurt' though – the line “sonnez les matines” from “Frere Jacques” becomes “sunny semolina” or something simliar in the mouths of English children…

Pharse du jour!

« avoir le cœur sur la main»

Translation : to be brave…the english equivalent is ‘to have fire in one’s belly !’

Bon courage Emma !

Phrase……du mois:

« Être à fleur de peau »

Translation : to be very sensitive, or to be easily set off

Par exemple:

"Ne lui adresse surtout pas la parole, Virginie est à fleur de peau. Je ne sais pas quelle mouche l'a piqué !"

The International Team have friends all over...

(well in the Legal Department at least...)

Today the interns (both French and English) enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Guingette to celebrate little Marion reaching the grand old age of 24!

Joyeux anniversaire Marion! Que tous tes désirs se réalisent…

A big warm welcome to the lovely Sophie who joins us for a period of 3 months as part of her Erasmus year abroad. Having already spent time in Portugal and Spain this wee lassie comes fully equipped with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR languages….impressive eh!!

Sophie’s just finished her first week here in the International Department and has settled in wonderfully. She’s already completed more than her fair share of translations and even proceeded to deal with French clients over the phone on only her second day! This gal aint’ afraid of nothing!

Make sure to ‘like’ the page so you can stay up-to-date with Sophie’s internship adventure!

Dîner d’Adieu – Memphis Diner

Unfortunately internships at CapiFrance can’t last forever, and so the time has come to say goodbye to the wonderful Alex.

Alex joined us back in January and has been an incredibly valuable member of the team. He’s headed a German benchmark project, completed countless translations…and even, for his final week, taken on David’s (le responsable!) everyday work dealing with English clients and French agents – which is not as straightforward as it seems!

Best of luck Alex, you and your epic language skills will be sorely missed!

A film crew were in the building today putting together CapiFrance’s corporate video. As always the International team were keen to get in on the action…

Shame Emma didn’t sort her hair out beforehand though!

POISSON D’AVRIL!

Now most of you should be aware that it’s April Fools' Day…

The interns here at CapiFrance weren’t ones to let it pass without a trick or two! They came prepared with Oreos, toothpaste and unsuspecting smiles…

Did you get caught out today?

Katy has once again spread her wings and flown into a brand new office of her own this time (only temporarily though…). Her enthusiasm paid off in the law department and now she’s been given the huge responsibility of benchmark research for CAPIFRANCE’s potential expansion into the UK!

She’s been in meetings with senior managers where she gave her own presentation, has been writing up reports on companies throughout England and Scotland and has had numerous calls with directors, CEO’s and employers of huge multinational real estate chains….pretty good going for a little stagiaire!

Keep up that telephone voice; everyone loves a little chit chat with Miss Jones ;)
