Having an absolute blast turning an Xbox game controller into a fully playable musical instrument 🎵

In this third video I'm playing a hybrid track using hangs, piano and kalimba among several synths, all triggered and manipulated through the controller. It’s surprisingly expressive.

Imagine generative AI was our only way to create music 🎵

We’d all be stuck wrestling with models, weights, seeds, and prompts. Style-specific models would pop up, people would cling to their personal favorite seeds searching for the best sounding ones. Endless prompt tweaks would replace all decisions.

Then, one day, a real DAW gets released. Something along the lines of Cubase, Logic and Ableton. Tools that let you shape every note, every instrument, every nuance.
Suddenly we're free to create music from A to Z, with endless possibilities that let you decide what the music should be.
Suddenly, music can become a personal expression of the humans that created it.

The migration to this new software would be massive. Overnight, generative AI would be exposed for what it really is: a shortcut, not a substitute for human expression. Because at the end of the day, people don’t crave “outputs.” They crave music with a voice. And only humans have one.

Thrilled to announce the release of the Roots of Tomorrow soundtrack across all platforms.
Composed over the past 3 years, the Roots of Tomorrow soundtrack includes 40 minutes of cinematic folk with a fresh musical take on several French regions like Paris, Cantal, Provence, Brittany or Normandie.

Just wrapped up for good one of the most meaningful projects I've worked on: composing the soundtrack for Roots of Tomorrow, a farm simulator game about sustainable agriculture and agroecology, .

This was not only about creating beautiful music, it was about translating the themes of resilience, growth and creating a better future into sound. To do so, we worked with many studio musicians like harmonica virtuoso Alex Paclin and folk violinist Rachel Crick to tailor the different settings accordingly to the places they represent.

This settings are inspired by real French regions like Paris, Normandy and Brittany. Rather than drawing on traditional or folkloric references, we approached each region with a fresh and modern perspective, aiming to reimagine their sonic identities.

The result is this 40-minute album of cinematic, ambient folk. Huge thanks to Gamabilis for this opportunity and support on the soundtrack release. The album drops on May 2nd !

Ravi d'avoir composé la musique du jeu Mission Apocalypse qui accompagne l'exposition "Apocalyse hier et demain" de la Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

Using a gamepad to trigger Wwise events has many advantages. First, every composer and sound designer can test their work, even in the case where they don’t have access to the Unity or Unreal Engine game scenes.

Taking one step further, this setup allows you to consider the gamepad as a musical instrument itself. As a matter of fact, it behaves as a musical instrument in many ways. You can use some buttons as piano keys, others as percussion, and so on.
