In this new book, Luc Arrondel, PSE Professor and CNRS Senior Researcher, and Richard Duhautois shed light on the economic drivers of modern soccer.

From the explosion of broadcasting rights and the financialization of clubs to the Super League project and the unique role of supporters, the book challenges common assumptions about the “football business” and explores the transformations of a sport that has become a global economic and media phenomenon.

What if a student report changed the way Paris thinks about its deliveries? 🚚

In 2024, MSc SIA students produced a scientific study for NGOs Respire and Clean Cities on urban freight and air quality in Paris.

The numbers are striking:
→ Delivery vehicles = ~20% of traffic, but ~43% of road NO₂ pollution
→ Switching to zero-emission deliveries could save up to ~70 lives per year
→ And cut up to ~500,000 tonnes of CO₂e annually

Their work was cited in a motion at the City Council of Paris and is now shaping the city's urban logistics policy.

Numbers don't tell the whole story 📊✨

Jan Domagalski, Teaching Assistant at the MSc SIA, teaches his students one essential skill: being bilingual in data and storytelling.

In class, students analyze real-world infrastructure projects and learn to ask the hard questions:
🔹 Who bears the social cost?
🔹 What do we owe to future generations?
🔹 How do ethics shape our analysis?

"You have to make a story and back it up with data."

Not all risks show up on a balance sheet 📉

Some assets lose their value quietly as policies change, technologies advance, and markets shift. That's what we call stranded assets.

👉 Spotting these risks before they materialize? That's a skill the world needs right now.
