There will be 3 carol concerts in the Winter Gardens of Duthie Park on Saturday 16th December. All donations of food are extremely welcome. Please ensure that food tins and packs are in date. 👏 Sharing some great news, Maeve Joyce one of our stage 4 MPharm students won the student leadership award at the Scottish Healthcare Awards 2023 on Wednesday night!

A great achievement and also really good to see a few familiar faces in the finalists as well. Unfortunately Maeve could not attend the event, picture attached is of our other RGU MPharm students on the night. 📢 Professor Linda Lawton, Professor Christine Edwards and Dr Jane Moore of met a delegation from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico. RGU has secured funding from the British Council to build relations and explore the potential of a TNE partnership with a focus on Sustainability and Climate Change. This was a pre-project visit to build understanding of our research capability with exciting collaborations planned.

📢 Tony Wagstaff of The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, RGU presented her first official Hydro Nation International Centre poster as part of a PhD scholar welcome event held last week. She is working towards providing evidence for and influencing policy to eliminate unnecessary chiral pharmaceutical waste from entering wastewater at source.

The event was held in Dundee at the DCA. It was a Hydro Nation Scholars Programme Welcome Event 2023 held on 17/11/23. There a mix of both scholars, supervisors, and people with a vested interest in the Hydro Nation Scholars Programme

Dr Carlos Pestana of The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences RGU visited and presented at the 20th International Conference on Harmful Algae (ICHA) in Hiroshima, Japan. His talk on the control of cyanobacteria in drinking water reservoirs in Brazil was well received and garnered a lot of interest. His visit was co-funded by the Microbiology Society.

Professors Linda Lawton and Christine Edwards of The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences RGU will host the 2027 International Conference on Harmful Algae (ICHA) in Aberdeen. This is a hugely prestigious international event in this specialist field of cutting edge Science.

The first photo below shows Christine with some of the local organising committee ( Prof. Keith Davidson and Gary Groves (Scottish Association of Marine Science), Kelly White (Food Standards Scotland) and Dr Eileen Bresnan (The Marine Directorate of the Scottish Government) promoting UK Science and the Aberdeen conference in Hiroshima Japan, 2023. Eileen and Christine were sponsored by Visit Britain.
