Launched in December 2007 with only 4 classes available and less than 20 members, Aberdeen University Dance Society (AUDS) has experienced exponential growth over the past 15 years and now offers more than 20 classes per week with the help of over 25 tutors. Everyone is welcome to the classes, and we aim to introduce dancing to beginners in an easy and fun way as well as to improve the skill and t

echnique of the more experienced students. AUDS offers a wide range of classes including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, K-Pop, Bachata, Highland and many more. We also invite members to take part in various performances and competitions that are organised regularly throughout the year. Each academic year is ended with a massive end of the year showcase where the tutors and students get a chance to show off their skills and amazing routines. AUDS has one of the largest communities of active members at the university, making it a great place to hang out, learn, develop, make new friends and most importantly, enjoy the art of dance!

The classes highlighted in blue are classes that are open to everyone with an AUDS membership 💙

⭐️JUDGES WANTED FOR SILVER CITY⭐️

Dear Scottish Dance Professionals community,

We are so excited to be hosting Silver City Dance competition for another year. The competition will be held Saturday 14th February 2026 at the Beach Ballroom Aberdeen. Silver city is a dance competition that is organised by Aberdeen University Dance Society and hosts hundreds of talented dancers from across the country from many different universities.

We are currently looking for judges who can bring their love, passion and expertise for dance to our event.

We are committed to maintaining high standards of adjudication, so we need your help!

As a judge at Silver City, you would have the opportunity to:

- Watch the wonderful talent of dancers from universities all over Scotland.

- Share your expertise and provide constructive feedback to the participants, helping them to grow and develop as dancers.

We have categories in- tap, ballet, highland, contemporary, jazz, lyrical and hip-hop at both intermediate and advanced levels alongside wildcard and solo/duo/trio. You do not need to have experience in all of these styles, but please let us know what styles you have knowledge of!

The competition runs all day, and you will have food and refreshments provided for you throughout. We would pay you £200 for the day.

If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in this role please send us a resume! Please also include a short extract introducing yourself to us and why you would be a great fit to judge at our competition specifically.
