Our Christmas Party '13 was held on 7th December 2013, involving Singaporean and Malaysian students from both University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University to come together for a festive celebration before the holidays. As is the traditional Aberdonian way, the party was filled with homecooked food and chatter, and we even had a stunning hand made nitrile glove Christmas tree!

Hey all, the University of Aberdeen will be holding the May Festival, an exciting new brand festival for the northeast of Scotland!

Venue: The University of Aberdeen

The festival will host over 100 events over three days (10 - 12 May), building on the success of research projects and past and current activities such as WORD, Director's Cut, The British Science Festival and the Music concert series. It will also celebrate great milestones, including the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health's centenary.
There will be debates, lectures, readings, workshops, concerts and more, spanning areas such as literature; science; music; film; Gaelic; food and nutrition.
The Festival will also have plenty on offer for children and families, with a special strand of events over the weekend. Plus, to engage the school community, we will host a dedicated Schools' Festival, offering free fun and educational events to schools across Aberdeen city and shire.
With some famous faces and local talent, the Festival is set to be a flagship event in the Scottish calendar - don't miss out!

Project Phetchabun Thailand was started by a group of medical students from Singapore in collaboration with RADION International, a Christian relief NGO. Past trips have been involved in medical outreaches and distribution of food and relief items to the outlying villages of Poo Kat and Khek Noi to help the marginalised people of the Hmong hill tribes. Tentative dates for the project are 27 July to 5 Aug 2013 with an estimated cost of S$1.3-1.5k for the 10 day trip. We are currently still looking for keen participants to be Project leaders, clinical students and doctors! For clinical students, this would be an absolutely great opportunity to run your own consultations and see patients and not forgetting experiencing clinical medicine in a rural settings. Don't miss it!!! Please contact Alyssa at [email protected] if you are interested for more information.
