Aberdeen University Men's Football Club

Aberdeen University Men's Football Club Aberdeen University FC first formed in 1872, making it one of the oldest football teams in Scotland. We play BUCS, AAFA, ADFA and SJFA North Region D1 East

The University Club was formed in 1872 and became members of the SFA in 1904. Aberdeen University has made three appearances in the Scottish Cup competition. In 1907 we lost 5-1 to Raith Rovers at Kircaldy (they were dancing in the streets of Raith!!) whilst in 1925 the Club travelled to Dundee Utd only to go down 5-1 in the 1st Round. The only home tie played by the Uni was in 1913 when the visitors were Peebles Rovers. In front of 2000 spectators, Aberdeen Uni went down 3-0.

Season recap:

In BUCS, our 1’s won the title and gained promotion back up to the league above! Well done 1’s.
The 2’s, 3’s, 4’s had great seasons (apart from the 2’s) and have built great foundations for next season which will see title challenges amongst them all respectively.

The University Ammie’s had probably the best season of us all, gaining promotion in the local league, and only didn’t win the title due to a point deduction. In the cups, similar to 2 years ago, we picked up The Dickie Trophy and the Barclay Cook Cup which was fantastic and we are so proud of them.

The University Colts unfortunately narrowly missed out on promotion, but winning The Castle Rovers Cup down at Balmoral Stadium was the highlight of the season, and similar to the Ammies, provided the team with a fantastic celebratory night.

We would love to thank the following leavers for their efforts and commitment to club over the past: Nick McBride Matthew Younger Sebastien Taylor Jonny Cain Alexander Walton Daniel Kenny Kian Mccredie Polson Whitcombe Struan Lumsden Yule Juda Mzamu Jack Paton McNulty Hilton price Sean Browne Roger van Schaik Henderson Jake Edwards Robb

We are looking for members of the public who would be willing to support the club not financially, just with their time in our aim to bring the Junior team back permanently. If you are based in the Aberdeenshire area and would be willing to discuss this further, please message the account for more details. Many thanks in advance!

Castle Rovers Cup champions! The Colts take care of business down at Balmoral Stadium beating Halliburton 4-0!
Matthew Love opened the scoring in the 35th minute, and doubled the scoring a few minutes later. ‘Captain Fantastic’ Roger Van Schaik made it 3-0 in the 45th minute and the Colts went into half time on top of the world. A late goal to seal the cup from Thomas Dryden, who was fantastic all game.

A 3-1 loss for the Colts unfortunately, beaten by the better side today. A great run by Matthew Love finished off by Finlay Harcus for the goal was the only bright spark. Onto Monday night for The University playing vs St Machar Thistle, admin not sure if Colts have a game.
