🐑 Old Hall Farm Female & Ram Sale – Wednesday 16th September

Join us at Old Hall Farm, Roughlee for the Hartley family's annual sale of breeding females alongside a selection of Innovis rams.

As well as the chance to view the sheep and select genetics for your flock, we're holding a Sheep Health Workshop at 2pm with leading sheep vet Dr Peers Davies.

🩺 Peers will share practical advice on flock health and disease prevention – a great opportunity to hear directly from one of the UK's leading sheep vets and ask your own questions.

We’re holding a pre-sale tup viewing at Springhall, Kelso on Monday 7th September, giving you the chance to view some of the rams ahead of the upcoming sales. Highlander, Abermax and Aberblack rams bred at Springhall will be available to be viewed.

At Bishop Burton College, sheep are doing more than producing lambs – they’re playing an important role in the arable rotation, helping improve soil health while reducing reliance on inputs.

And the flock is still delivering.

🌱 380 Aberfield and Highlander ewes
🐑 Averaging 156% lambs reared
⚖️ Lambs finishing at 20kg deadweight
💪 Up to 20% finished by 18-week weaning with no creep
🌾 Ewes maintaining condition from forage alone

Farm Manager Josh Wright says Innovis genetics have been a natural fit for their forage-based system, combining lower inputs with the commercial performance the farm needs.
