Students from Aberystwyth University’s Business School and Film & Television department have recently completed an exciting work experience opportunity supporting the new owners of the Royston Hotel in Powys with their marketing and brand development.

Working collaboratively, the students helped develop:
• marketing strategy
• digital content ideas
• branding and storytelling
• social media concepts
• promotional planning

This hands on project gave students valuable industry experience while supporting a small, local and independent business during an exciting period of growth. The collaboration highlights the importance of practical learning, creativity, and industry engagement, allowing students to apply their academic skills in a real business environment while building confidence, teamwork and professional experience.

We are proud to support opportunities that connect students with local businesses and help develop the next generation of creative and entrepreneurial talent

Mae myfyrwyr o Ysgol Fusnes Prifysgol Aberystwyth a'r adran Ffilm a Theledu newydd gwblhau cyfle gwych o brofiad gwaith yn cefnogi perchnogion newydd Gwesty Royston yn Sir Powys gyda'u marchnata a datblygiad brand.

Gan weithio'n gydweithredol, helpodd y myfyrwyr i ddatblygu:
• strategaeth farchnata
• syniadau cynnwys digidol
• brandio a naratif
• cysyniadau cyfryngau cymdeithasol
• cynllunio hyrwyddo

Rhoddodd y prosiect ymarferol hwn brofiad diwydiant gwerthfawr i'r myfyrwyr tra'n cefnogi busnes bach, lleol ac annibynnol yn ystod cyfnod cyffrous o dwf. Mae'r cydweithrediad yn amlygu pwysigrwydd dysgu ymarferol, creadigrwydd, a chysylltiad â'r diwydiant, gan alluogi myfyrwyr i roi eu sgiliau academaidd ar waith mewn amgylchedd busnes go iawn tra'n adeiladu hyder, gwaith tîm a phrofiad proffesiynol.

Rydym yn falch o gefnogi cyfleoedd sy'n cysylltu myfyrwyr â busnesau lleol ac yn helpu i ddatblygu'r genhedlaeth nesaf o dalent greadigol ac entrepreneuraidd.

We would like to wish Jack the very best of luck as he moves to Minnesota this Wednesday to begin his year-long placement as a canoe and wilderness guide at Northern Tier High Adventure. Jack is an Adventure Tourism Management student, and we hope he has an incredible and rewarding experience on this exciting next step in his journey.

Hoffem ddymuno lwc gorau i Jack wrth iddo symud i Minnesota ddydd Mercher hwn i ddechrau ei leoliad blwyddyn gyfan fel canŵ a thywysydd gwyllt yn Northern Tier High Adventure. Mae Jack yn fyfyriwr Rheoli Twristiaeth Antur, ac rydym yn gobeithio y bydd ganddo brofiad anhygoel a gwerthfawrogiol ar y cam cyffrous nesaf hwn yn ei deithiau.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the success of one of our students at Aberystwyth Business School, following the recent release of Tilly’s new nautical fantasy novel, Guardian of the Depths.

Balancing the demands of university study alongside writing and publishing a book is an incredible achievement, and it’s fantastic to see our students pursuing their ambitions both inside and outside the classroom.

Released in late April, Guardian of the Depths is available in hardback, paperback, and e-book formats on Amazon and through the author’s website. We’re proud to support and showcase the creativity, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit of our students — congratulations to Tilly on turning a lifelong dream into reality!

Rydyn ni’n hynod falch o ddathlu llwyddiant un o’n myfyrwyr yn Ysgol Fusnes Aberystwyth, ar ôl rhyddhau diweddar nofel ffantasi nydaidd newydd Tilly, Guardian of the Depths.

Mae gallu cydbwyso gofynion astudio ym Mhrifysgol ochr yn ochr â ysgrifennu a chyhoeddi llyfr yn cyflawniad anhygoel, ac mae’n wych gweld ein myfyrwyr yn dilyn eu hymdrechion y tu mewn ac y tu allan i’r dosbarth. Wedi’i ryddhau ddiwedd Ebrill, mae Guardian of the Depths ar gael mewn fformat caled, papur meddal, ac e-lyfr ar Amazon ac trwy wefan y awdur. Rydyn ni’n falch o gefnogi ac arddangos creadigrwydd, ymroddiad, a ysbryd entrepreneuraidd ein myfyrwyr — llongyfarchiadau i Tilly am droi hunaniaeth hyd bywyd yn realiti!

One of our 2nd year students, Karolina, has successfully started and grown her own crochet business while studying at Aberystwyth University.

Karolina creates a range of handmade crochet items including plushies, accessories, flowers, and clothing, with plans to expand into even more handmade crafts in the future.

“I learnt how to crochet from my grandma and everyone I knew kept telling me to start selling my items, so I did — and I’ve never looked back since.”

Here are some photos of Karolina and examples of her amazing work

Sylw ar Fusnes Myfyrwyr

Mae un o'n myfyrwyr blwyddyn 2, Karolina, wedi llwyddo i gychwyn a thyfu ei busnes crochenwaith ei hun tra'n astudio ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth.

Mae Karolina yn creu amryw o eitemau crochenwaith wedi'u gwneud â llaw gan gynnwys teganau meddal, ategolion, blodau, a dillad, gyda chynlluniau i ehangu i grefftau â llaw mwy yn y dyfodol.

"Dysgais sut i grefftio gan fy nain ac roedd pawb dwi'n eu hadnabod yn parhau i ddweud wrtha i gychwyn gwerthu fy nheclynnau, felly roeddwn i'n gwneud hynny — ac erioed ers hynny dwi heb edrych yn ôl."

🌿 Rewilding Aberystwyth University 🌿

Aberystwyth University is transforming parts of its campus into biodiverse habitats through native hedgerows, wildflower meadows, and tree planting to support wildlife, ecological connectivity, and multispecies well-being.

Supported by more than 50 volunteers, the project helps create shared spaces for people, pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, while strengthening nature recovery across the campus.

The initiative forms part of the MUST (Enabling Multispecies Transitions) Project, exploring how universities can support biodiversity, climate action, and more sustainable futures.

The project is supported by researchers from Aberystwyth Business School: PhD researcher Saman Sobhani and Professor Mike Christie, whose work focuses on biodiversity, ecosystem values, and multispecies justice.

🌿 Ailwyldio Prifysgol Aberystwyth 🌿

Mae Prifysgol Aberystwyth yn troi rhannau o’i gampws yn habitatau bioamrywiol trwy gwrychoedd brodorol, meysydd blodau gwyllt, a phlannu coed i gefnogi bywyd gwyllt, cysylltedd ecolegol, a lles amrywiol rywogaethau.

Gan gael cefnogaeth gan fwy na 50 gwirfoddolwr, mae’r prosiect yn helpu i greu mannau cyffredin i bobl, pobyddion, adar, a bywyd gwyllt arall, tra’n cryfhau adfer natur ar draws y campws.

Mae’r fenter yn rhan o Brosiect MUST (Hyrwyddo Trawsnewidiadau Amrywiaethol), sy’n archwilio sut y gall prifysgolion gefnogi bioamrywiaeth, gweithredu ar yr hinsawdd, ac dyfodol mwy cynaliadwy.

Mae’r prosiect yn cael ei gefnogi gan ymchwilwyr o Ysgol Fusnes Aberystwyth: ymchwilydd PhD Saman Sobhani a’r Athro Mike Christie, y mae eu gwaith yn canolbwyntio ar bioamrywiaeth, gwerthoedd ecosystemau, a chyfiawnder amrywiol rywogaethau.

A massive thank you to our final year student Divya for organising a fantastic staff and student end-of-term get together 🎉

The event was a great opportunity for everyone to come together, reflect on the year, celebrate achievements, and enjoy some well-earned downtime before the summer break. It was wonderful to see students and staff connecting outside the classroom and recognising the strong sense of community within the Business School.

Well done, Divya, for all of your hard work in bringing everyone together and creating such a positive atmosphere for the end of term

Diolch enfawr i’n myfyriwr blwyddyn olaf Divya am drefnu casgliad gwych o staff a myfyrwyr ar ddiwedd y tymor 🎉 Digwyddiad gwych oedd hwn i bawb gan ddod at ei gilydd, myfyrio ar y flwyddyn, dathlu cyflawniadau, a mwynhau ychydig o hamdden haeddiannol cyn y gwyliau haf.

Roedd yn wych gweld myfyrwyr a staff yn cysylltu y tu allan i’r ystafell ddosbarth ac yn cydnabod y syniad cryf o gymuned o fewn Ysgol Fusnes.

Da iawn, Divya, am eich holl waith caled o ddod â phawb at ei gilydd a chreu awyrgylch mor gadarnhaol ar ddiwedd y tymor
