Aberystwyth University Sub Aqua Club Active University BSAC Sub-Aqua Club! We hold regular pool sessions at the university pool.

We are a registered branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club, but welcome divers from any training body, and complete beginners. Whatever your previous experience, from complete beginner to experienced diver, you will be able to enjoy diving and training with us, in the company of friendly people who love to dive and socialise!

Thanks to the Royal Pier sponsoring Sub-Aqua this year, each member will receive a Club Royal card.

When we use a card in the Royal Pier, we earn £0.05 for every £1 spent by you. This helps us earn some money for the club funds and can provide a better club experience for you guys!

These cards can be used at Inn On, the fish and chips outlet on the pier and in the club. Just present it to staff when you pay!

This would really help us out, so we would appreciate that when you're at pier either with us as a social or just going with friends, that you use them!

Given the current circumstances we have been put in a difficult situation regarding the nature and future of our club. Following a committee meeting we would like your insight on what you guys would like to see from the club.

Unfortunately, any physical diving opportunities that we had planned or hoped to plan have been paused for the foreseeable for a variety of reasons.
Therefore we have the following options to offer you.

1. Official BSAC theory training online; however I would like to stress we can NOT guarantee being able to complete pool/open water sessions necessary for gaining your ocean diver qualification.

2. Committee ran 'seminar' sessions online surrounding knowledge of diving and other related marine and conservation topics to keep you all interested in diving.

I apologise for the lengthy post and dull demeanour but unfortunately our hands are tied.
We appreciate the support and hope to make the most of this weird year together!

Please comment any questions, or ask in the group chat and we will do our best to answer them before you have to commit to paying any membership fees.

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our upcoming rock pooling social due to student union and government guidance, as well as the other upcoming in person socials.

We are however hosting some virtual socials which we will bring forwards so we can do them soon! We have a pub quiz planned with some great prizes to win so keep an eye on this space!

Hello all, there are currently some unfilled positions in the committee, and the SU has been kind enough to arrange a second round of elections to attempt to fill those positions before the coming year. Here is the timeline for these elections. The process is the same as before go to the elections portal (https://www.abersu.co.uk/teamaber/club_soc_elections/) if you would like to apply for a position.

27th May: Standing closes
1st June: Voting opens
5th June (3pm): Voting closes
5th June (by 5pm): Results

Hello everyone,
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 all club activities have been cancelled until further notice. This includes the open water trip planned for April 24th. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, but the decision has been made for us by the SU. We are looking into rearranging events but due to the uncertainty at the moment we are unlikely to be able to confirm new dates anytime soon. We are planning to hold committee elections online in the coming weeks, so we encourage members to consider running! Thank you all for your understanding and stay safe!
