*** TRAVEL DISRUPTION AT GLASGOW CENTRAL STATION ***

With all train services cancelled today (Monday 9 March) at Glasgow Central Station, students are advised to consider their travel arrangements and check with travel providers before commuting to campus. Useful links can be found here: www.uws.ac.uk/current-students/disruption

Our campuses remain open and students should assume any scheduled learning activities are taking place as planned. Should there be any disruption to scheduled learning activities, programme teams will contact students directly with updated arrangements. Any student who is unable to travel to campus for scheduled learning activities is asked to advise their programme team/lecturer.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and, if necessary, will provide updates through the University’s social media and other channels.

University study for ESOL and EAL learners: BA (Hons) English Language at UWS

Are you an English language learner interested in studying at university?

The BA (Hons) English Language at UWS is a unique programme designed especially for students who do not have English as a first language.

Our students learn how to be highly proficient multilingual communicators, and to develop critical and analytical skills that will open up a range of career opportunities with organizations' around the world.

With an emphasis on small group teaching, this programme allows you to refine and expand your knowledge and understanding of the linguistic and cultural aspects of the language, with a focus on authentic language development.

This week, the Division of Education, welcomed our new PGDE Primary and Secondary students on Ayr and Lanarkshire Campus. Today, the Lanarkshire students travelled to Ayr Campus for their very own PGDE welcome event. Thanks to Piping by Callum for piping a warm welcome today. This was a huge hit with all students, especially our Canadian CANTeach students. We hope all students had a great week and we look forward to seeing them on campus throughout the academic year 25/26.
