We have some exciting news to share!

Adele from the 2026 series of The Great British Sewing Bee is coming to Bugweed’s to officially open our Quilts for Care Leavers fundraising quilt show!

Adele will be joining us from 10.30am on Saturday 7 November to open the show and have a chat with visitors. If you’d like to meet her, make sure you arrive early!

Come along to admire the beautiful quilts made by our wonderful Q4CL group, enjoy a cuppa, join in the fun and games, and help us raise money for the materials needed to make more quilted hugs for young people leaving the care system.

Saturday 7 November, 10.30am–3pm.

Bugweed’s, Unit 3 Marrtree Business Park, Stirling Road, York YO30 4AB.

I am so unbelievably excited to announce that from January 2027 I will be based at a new Maker space in Carlton Barnsley where I will be offering Weekly sewing classes! 🎉

Spaces on each class will be limited to 6 people so please book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!⌛

Classes will be at least once a week but sometimes we will have 2-3 classes a week. Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays will be the main days.

Obviously we will do some weekends too!

Here are the dates and times for January 2027.

I know this seems a while off but after asking a few weeks back about weather anyone would be interested the feedback was amazing! So I really do hope you book!

Classes are for beginners all the way to advanced sewers. If your a beginner I can teach you how to sew, non beginners bring any project, use the time to sew, socialise and I'll be on hand to help. 🥰

⭐Thursday 21st January 1pm-3pm

⭐Wednesday 27th January 10am-12pm

⭐ Saturday 30th January 10am-3pm £40

I have other new products too and products that sold out really fast last time so make sure to tune in at 10am 🥰

I would love to start doing some sewing classes next year in Barnsley?

Who would be interested? Bring your own projects, learn to sew, dressmaking, bag making, homewares, toys.

Would you book? Would be some daytime during the week and some on a weekend.

Long post alert!!!

Just incase anyone panics before reading. I'm not going anywhere don't worry ❤️

Just wanted to let you know where I am and how I'm feeling. You're all like friends to me so felt right to share!

I have plans for the business but I can't always act on them right away like I once could.

It also feels like I'm fighting constant battles with one thing and another at the moment too! 🙄🙄

Every bit of time I now spend on the business is very precious, if I feel like I've not spent it wisely, I feel bad for Mabel who I could have been spending more time with.

I'm also hoping to get a proper monthly schedule together for live sewing and shopping on a Thursdays. But today had been so busy I haven't got round to prepping!!

Anyway. That's all from me

Anyone local to Barnsley that might want this singer sewing machine that comes in a cabinet.

It's a lovely piece of furniture but I don't have room for it anymore !

It all folds down into the cabinet. We don't think the machine itself is working, we hoped to get it up and running but just don't have the time

Can potentially deliver if local and you don't think it would fit in your car!
