Happy Halloween! 🎃

Our Production & Theatrical Arts Makeup students have been hard at work this term, creating incredible special effects looks and collaborating with our Photography department to bring the spooky season to life.

Level 3 Year 1 makeup students pushed their creativity to new heights, producing a range of unique and hauntingly impressive looks.

Level 3 Year 2 students took part in the Hands of Horror brief, using prosthetics and latex to create eerie, horror-inspired designs that showcased their technical skills and imagination.

These creations were then professionally captured by Photography students, showcasing the fantastic cross-department collaboration between the courses.

The result? A collection of striking images that highlight the talent, creativity, and teamwork of our students across both departments. 🎭📸

Our Social Science students stepped outside the classroom to explore the UK’s first 3D planetarium and over 200 interactive exhibits gaining new insights through hands on learning.

Meet our Director of Rugby: Matti Williams 🏉

Matti Williams is a professional rugby player with over 15 years of experience competing across South Africa, the English Premiership, and France.

His professional experience gives him a deep understanding of how to nurture talent and build confident athletes that meet the requirements of the modern game.

Meet Ros, a former adult floristry learner at Bath College who turned her passion for flowers into her own successful business, Primrose Florals

After working in HR and recruitment, Ros decided it was time to explore her creative side.

Through our Adult Floristry course, she gained the skills, confidence, and industry experience needed to build the foundations of her business, creating beautiful seasonal bouquets, wedding flowers, and farewell arrangements using locally grown flowers and sustainable practices.

Her advice for anyone considering adult learning?

"Do it! It's surprising what you can do when you put your mind to it. If you really enjoy it, you will find the time."

Photography Term 1 Through the Lens 📷✨

Our Photography students have enjoyed a busy and creative first term, putting their pop-up studio through its paces as they photographed staff and students. These practical sessions helped students strengthen their portrait photography skills ahead of the Victorian Portrait Studio, which took place at Saturday's Dolemeads Street Party.

Beyond the studio, learners explored photography in new ways, drifting along the River Avon, experimenting with sun printing, soaking up the sunshine, and discovering fresh perspectives through the camera lens.

The term also included a visit from Joe Coleman of Swansea School of Art, who shared valuable insights into creative careers, building opportunities within the industry, and navigating the next steps into higher education and employment.

A fantastic term of creativity, experimentation, and professional development. We can't wait to see what Term 2 brings!
