Researchers at the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast are undertaking the PAD-Q study to find out if personalised dietary advice can improve diet quality and other risk factors for heart disease in participants. We are looking for volunteers who are:
# 18 years or over
# overweight
# have a low diet quality score (assessed using a diet questionnaire) and
# at risk of heart dise
ase (have either high blood pressure, high cholesterol and/or who currently smoke)

What is the study investigating? Researchers at the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast are undertaking the PAD-Q study to find out if personalised dietary advice, based on both biomarkers and a diet quality assessment, can improve diet quality and other risk factors for heart disease in participants across the island of Ireland.

What’s involved? Participants will receive dietary advice via email at 2 timepoints during a 6-month study period. Participants will be required to attend the Centre for Public Health at the Royal Victoria Hospital on three occasions (baseline, 3 and 6 months) to complete some questionnaires and provide blood and urine samples.
