So…WE’VE HIT 14 YEARS at Premier. Where did that time go?! We are proud to say that we are the longest running acting agency in Northern Ireland and so many of our clients have been with us from the get-go.

From our beginnings, year on year, we have gone from strength to strength, and we are so proud of all the work that our clients have been involved in, which we have demonstrated over the past few months in our retrospectives.

A lot has been packed into the past 14 years. Over that time, we’ve built very strong working relationships with casting directors North and South and on the mainland. We’ve worked with every theatre company in Northern Ireland and many in the Republic of Ireland, London, and elsewhere. We’ve travelled far and wide to see clients in productions and watched proudly as they graced our screens, both television and cinematic. We’ve attended premieres and eaten our body weight in popcorn (it’s a hard job, but someone has to do it…).

We had a nosy in our archives and below is just a sample of some of the shows that we’ve been to see over the past 14 years, but it doesn’t even begin to touch on the vast amount of television, film, commercial, VO, and other theatre work that our clients have been involved in. It’s a tough industry but we can definitely say that all of the long days, late nights and weekends have truly been worth it. There’s no feeling like it when you get to ring up an actor and tell them that they’ve got into their dream project.

Now…while the laurels have been rested upon for a few minutes, it’s time for a strong cup of tea and back to the emails that await.

Congratulations to Maeve Connelly who attended the Northern Ireland premiere of the Death of Robin Hood. Maeve plays the role of Hendrie's Great Aunt in the feature alongside a small cast which includes Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, and Bill Skarsgård.

The event was hosted by Queen's University Belfast, in association with Hill Vellacott, and included a Q&A session following the screening with Executive Producer of the film and Honorary Graduate of Queen's University, Mark Huffam CBE.

Congratulations to Leah Williamson, John Travers, Adrian Cooke, Jack Dawson, and Shane McCaffrey on being cast in a lovely theatre show. We can't wait to see it in September!

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Mooney.

Anyone who spent even a few moments in Pat’s company very quickly learned what an absolute gentleman he was and he will be hugely missed.

Pat joined us back in 2013 and went on to have notable performances in Red Rock, Game of Thrones, and The Frankenstein Chronicles. Feature films included The Man Who Invented Christmas and Lost City of Z. He most recently shot on two short films, Tracey and Eterne. One of our favourite projects with Pat was a renowned, warm-hearted LIDL Christmas ad which ran for a number of years. Pat laughingly recalled how the ad led to him being recognised on a Dublin street.

Aside from his acting career, Pat also had a very successful teaching career before he retired. He taught English in the Abbey Grammar School, Newry, from 1968-2009, becoming Head of English in 1990. He was the driving force which introduced Drama to Abbey Grammar School as a discrete subject. Pat was also co-founder and partner of The Abbey Press, a professional poetry publishing company in the Abbey Grammar School.

Pat loved to travel (having visited the USA, Canada, most of Europe, Australia, South America, Asia and the Middle East) and had an apartment in the South of France which he visited frequently. He embraced the era of self-tapes and, no matter where he was in the globe, if he got a self-tape request (which he always seemed to get multiples of when he was away!), he made it happen, with those who happened to be around him often jumping to help. That was the mark of Pat.

Our thoughts are very much with his sister Eileen, wider family circle, and friends.

We are very happy to welcome Trevor Gill to Premier Artists. Having worked with Trevor for many years on various theatre projects, we are very excited to be working with him in an acting capacity also.

Trevor is a Belfast-based actor, theatre-maker and Founder/Artistic Director of Bright Umbrella Theatre Company at The Sanctuary Theatre, East Belfast. His work spans Shakespeare, new writing, one-person performance, touring theatre and community-rooted drama, with a strong interest in theatre as a means of social change.

Trevor will also feature in the upcoming new series of Blue Lights.
