Fancy spending a full academic year studying in the USA? ✈️🎓

Applications are now open for the Study USA 2027/28 Programme!

Funded by the Department for the Economy (DfE) and delivered by the British Council, Study USA gives eligible full-time higher education students in Northern Ireland the chance to spend a full academic year studying at a college or university in the United States.

With the programme running since 1994 and partnerships with 140+ US institutions, there are opportunities to study across a wide range of subjects. Around 50–60 students take part each year.

The Study USA scholarship is worth approximately £50,000 and includes:

✈️ Return flights to the USA
🎓 Tuition fees
🏠 On-campus accommodation
🍽️ Meal plan
📚 Textbook allowance
💷 £1,000 student bursary
💵 Up to $500 towards elective class materials and fees

¡Hola from our Guatemala gang!

Our students have officially completed their first Spanish class! 📚

They are building the language skills they'll use throughout their time in Antigua, where they'll spend their mornings teaching English in local schools, before joining afternoon Spanish classes to connect with the community and immerse themselves in Guatemalan culture.

A great start in Guatemala - and we can't wait to see what comes next. 💙🌎

On Friday, we hosted one of our favourite events of the year — our in-person Pre-Departure Event on the Belfast Campus. More than 120 students who are preparing to embark on global experiences this summer joined us, with destinations including China, Fiji, South Korea, across Europe, the USA, Thailand, Bali, Guatemala, Japan, and many more.

Throughout the day, students received valuable guidance to help them prepare for their international journeys. Expert-led sessions covered topics such as capturing and sharing their experiences, student wellbeing while abroad, and an interactive cultural awareness challenge.

We hope everyone left feeling excited, informed, and ready to make the most of the incredible global opportunities that lie ahead. Safe travels to all our students as they begin their adventures around the world!
