Last but certainly not least it’s Jack Atkinson who is your Events Officer this year on the Exec. Our penultimate introduction goes to Isla Geldenhuys who is this years Internationals Officer on the Exec. She will be responsible for welcoming our new international students and ensuring they settle in to Stran life and make the most of their experience. MEET THE EXEC 24/25

Amy Jones is your Academics Officer this year and her role entails chairing the Student Voice Committees for each degree programme at Stranmillis, which allows staff and students to come together to discuss relevant academic matters. You’ll hear more about how to get involved with SVC once we start back and it is a useful forum in order to highlight what is going well and also any issues that need addressing.

Even if you have queries that you feel don’t need to be brought up at SVC, Amy is the person to go to about all things relating to timetabling, classes, assignments, placements and she will work with you one on one to try and resolve them!

MEET THE EXEC 24/25

Next up it’s Cameron McCaw who is taking on the role of Charity and Welfare Officer this year! He’ll be taking the lead in our charity events for this year in order to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charities.

As well as this, in the welfare aspect of his role he will work alongside student support to ensure that your well-being is top of the agenda in all areas of college life. He is a very friendly face and if you do need someone to talk to he will be more than happy to listen and will do so in a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive manner. Do not hesitate to reach out, even if it is something you think is small.

Julia Anderson is this years Halls Officer and she is so excited to meet all of you who will very soon be moving into halls! Julia’s role will involve assisting you as you settle in to your new environment, liaising with the hospitality team to ensure you are receiving the quality of service you should expect and she will also be your point of contact if you have any questions or issues that arise during your time in halls.

Next up it’s Jessica Martin who is Deputy President this year on the Exec. Her role will involve advising the President, deputising at meetings and accompanying the President when necessary. She will also support the rest of the Exec and assist in the overall running of the SU.
